Come to find out he turbo'd it a few weeks later (ughdance) Discreet and I ran into him over the weekend where they were draggin at a deserted road. Discreet ran a few people and ran him if im not mistaken......yeah wasnt pretty, Maurice rapped him pretty bad....along with the rest of the cars that contested teh MSP.

Yea my thoughts. The RX8 sucks balls. What 220 to 230hp? Then take drive train loss and take into consideration when the HP hits. I don't know why people even buy them except for they just don't know better. Beating a RX8 is like beating a blind kid.

why buy them? they have one of the best interiors in their class.....they drive smooth as glass and are very quite and nice to ride in on long road trips.
They have a larger power band (even if it is lower power than some want) so its great for being able to hold every gear longer.
There is a lot more to a car than just straight line performance or horsepower.
the rx8 isnt a drag racing car.....it might have 70 less HP than the 350z, but it also has 500lbs less weight, and on a road course...stock for stock, they are very evenly matched......not to mention the RX8 has beat the 350z in many heads up tests for overall performance and quality.
Well Im sure it handles well, most Mazdas do. But in all of the comparisons that Ive seen or heard of the RX8 is always last. The main reason is lack of power. While there might be more to a car then power, it doesnt do any good to handle if you dont have the power to pull once youre out of the turn. And in most real races (not these parking lot wanabes) there is at least 1 good straight. And dont get on the build quality of this car. Even Mazda said its not that great what with the squeaks and rattles and the rest. I like the looks of the car, but with out 300hp this car just sucks. For that much money Ill take a Mustang GT or the 350 any day, oh and I guess you can add the MS3 to that list also.
Thats something I have always held on to. Look handling is awesome. Corner carving and stringing together apexes is a thrill. But lets not pretend like it's not fun the bury the GO PEDAL and get pushed into your seat with the noise and feeling of a strong motor winding it's way through your body. Give the RX-8 the muscle it needs to hold it's own in the straights and it would be AWESOME. Theres a reason the MS3 is packing 263 hp and close to 300Ib ft of torque people! I don't think they should turn the RX-8 into an over muscled steroid machine but I don't think 260-300 HP is too much to ask, It looks fast and the Rotary is a smooth motor. Just give it some cojones!
