MSP Vacuum Pressure w/ boost/vac gauge

Not even what?? For an obvious leak you got lucky... that is mostly never the case. When its not just a wga or a vac line which will be 90% of the time a boost leak tester is your best friend.

Just a little update. Not sure if this is just a coincidence but... today before it rained my gauge read 16 for vac. I'm guessing because the atmospheric pressure is higher, my vac went up. What do you guys think?

False.

Also, generally the pressure will be much lower during a storm than higher.
