only difference besides the turbo's s*** is the ECU from what I remember...I think it utilizes the stock fuel system more or less...
I will buy everything from you for $500 more than you pay for it (fi the price you pay for it is cheap like you said)...so something to think about, if you want you could make 500 bucks on this little rerouting of engine parts...
Some backflipper at school is buying my custom turbo manifold, used T-25, and used Spearco FMIC for $1500...and for now I was going the NA route, but i would be great to have a whole system to rely on once the other work is done...
Come on you guys this also got ridiculous...Do you think the FBI will give a s*** and a half that some kid sold parts of his engine (or removed for that matter?) before an adjuster came to apraise the car? 1000 people a day total a car, and then remove their 5 large + of custom stereo equipment before the adjuster shows up...the insurance company will quote the car, and then sell it to some beer guzzling junk yard owner...they rarely even look in the engine bay...The guy whose name is on the title is comletely able to remove whatever he wants from his car...he owns it...
Now if this dude, got the car appraised and the insurance money, and then snuck parts out of it, that is shady and illegal...But that probably is not the case becuase he would no longer have access to the car afterwards...but in the big picture of everything, no one will care either...I sold a 93 Probe GT to a friend in High school for 2 grand...after his car insurance company was aware of the car being titled to him and covered, he drove the car into the woods, sawed tree down on it, towed it back to his house and called his policy holder...HE TOLD THE ADJUSTER that he did this, but told the company on the phone a tree fell on it in a thunderstorm...The adjuster clearly said, no this is not 100% legal, but I will confirm exactly what you said on the phone to the company, and you will get a check for the appraised amount...(about 4 grand)...yes he 100% commited insurance frued...and he 100% did not get caught...and at this point it is his adjuster's problem if it would ever get dug up some how...
I am in no way commending this, or saying it is perfectly ok...I agree with all of you that it is wrong...but no will care...if this friend of his once to make a few bucks on parts to his car, who cares...
Insurance is so high becuase of the frequency of kids like this MSP owner wrecking cars...and becuase of America's "sue-happiness"...not becuase of kids selling parts of a car that the insurance company bought from them (when a car is totaled, once you recieve the check the policy provider owns the car, so when parts are stripped after the check is recieved that is what makes this illegal)...
As far as frued issues, this is not like burning down your ocean front, 5-star hotel and collecting a check for 3 billion in losses...the s*** in question would barely make it into small claims court...and all this does in the long run is take a few grand from the companies' board of director's 5,000,000 in profit for the fiscal year...people that commit these small automotive misdimeanors (small as in taking a turbocharger from a insurance owned car) are steeling at most 1 grand from the top of the companies food chain...Don't look at it like everyone is the victim, these do not cause insurance rates to be higher, the only victims are people that don't even realize that their millions of dollars in annual profit is a few hundred less than it could have been...Large insurance companies such as Geico and Progressive are among the highest profiting organizations in the American economy in terms of profit after overhead is settled...We are the ones getting ***** by the insurance companies!! Geico's CEO makes over 8 million a year...if the CEO's in charge of these companies were hard working, and making approx 100,000 grand a year I would have a much different stance on this...
Insurance companies, along with pharmacuetiacal compinies, are one of the leading causes to such a grosse unbalance of wealth in this country..Do you think that CEO making a cool 8 million a year is distributing his un-Godly wealth to underprivaledged kids whose parents can't afford health insurance?? NO...he is probably out looking for his fifth ******* yacht...while kids needing new kidneys and hearts are s*** on...OR do you think that CEO is putting his "hard earned" cash back into his own company to help drive insurance rates down??? NO!
What some of you are arguing are along the lines of "Don't download pirated music" We should all go buy Brittany Spears albums for $15 each...With the music industry in such a bad downward spiral, our dear Brittany only brought home $30,000,000 for 03 so far ($43,500,000 predicted for 2003 in once completed), compared to 01's 50,000,000...Cry me a ******* river...
I am done bitching about insurance companies...
Most policies clearly say that in the event of a car being totaled, tell the insurance company what will be removed from the car before appraisal, so that the insurance check can be adjusted...this makes it 100% legal...Insurance companies are very ignorant on the aftermarket price ranges and will most likely deduct 2 or 3 hundred from his check...thats it...if that owner sells those removed, adjusted, legally his parts for $20,000 no one will blink...
