MSP Tranny problems ..... NEED HELP

Hey every1,
I just got back into the tunner side of me... i went from a CiviC 5 speed JDM b16 to a drag bike to a stunt bike.. now i recently purchased a MSP... the guy was selling it for 2500.00 i ask why so cheap he said the half shaft was busted... i have worked in a body shop for 5 years before getting a sales job... still did not think this sounded right... had him bring the car to my house after looking at it its not the problem... long story short i payed500.00 for the car.. car looks great motor runs great but will not move... it will go in every gear like normal but wont move... clutch still feels like it has the correct amount of give.. u can shift from gear to gear with out pushing clutch in while the car is still running.... the guy said he thought he smelled something "fishy".... said he was driving had subs on and shifting from 1st (witch was fine) to 2nd (witch did nothing) lost it all... could not move .... over all 1st i need help form any1 that would know the issue and the answer.. 2nd did i get a good deal... and 3rd whats the best way to pull tranny i cant find any guides or help web sites... the parts store in my town (advanced auto parts) says that 90% of the parts are unavailable ...

Welcome to the forums. Hell yeah, I would say you got a good deal! Here's a tranny install/removal guide here. From what I have been reading your lsd may be broken but don't quote me on that it's just a guess. Here's a list of msp specific part stores here.
 
You won't find rebuild parts that you'll need from your local retail parts store. Dealer, Protege Garage, Crossover etc. And don't try to move the car as you will cause more damage if your LSD is busted.

As far as a deal goes? Sure you paid $500, but ask that question again when you repair it and consider what it cost to do so.
 
LSD for sure.....been there myself...while you are in there, might as well replace the clutch and the flywheel too!

You have no clue how long i have been looking for a guide like this ..... thank you so much ..
 
thank you all .. this is what i have came up with ... plan on pulling tranny tomorrow then ordering parts ... new lsd and exedy clutch stage 1 and fly wheel.... if you guys think this would be a good set up great ... if not or you know better for around 800.00 please let me know...
 
800 is probably for just the LSD

********** has oem LSD's for $250 sale currently i believe
 
their is only 1 mfactory for our cars. i had a mfactory lsd installed and the car pulls like no other now!

make sure you get 2 new bearings (i cant remember which ones they are called) and the bolt kit. samm at crossover will hook u up
