MSP tail light poll

Here's something I don't think anyone else has done. I did it to my 00 ES before I sold it and will also be doing it to my MP3 now. I'm going to match the black section on the taillight to the body color though. It makes the rear look like an audi A4, especially when it's debadged.

At first, after just skimming what you wrote and looking at the pic, I thought it looked terrible. (between the spoiler not matching and the black stripe on the taillight) Then I reread what you wrote... you're obviously planning on painting the black stripe the same color as the car... and hopefully the spoiler will get some paint as well. I can see how that'll look cool... definitely agree with the '99 a4 resemblance. make sure you post a pic of the final version.

Yeah, I almost mentioned that. Don't pay attention to my RICE. Just read and use your imagination.
I ended up selling the spoiler and putting the stock one back on, then sold the car and bought my MP3. Not sure when I'll get the tails painted, cause I'll prob pay someone for that, but I'll try to remember to post an after pic.

i dont know if its been mentioned but another option is regular protege tail lights. believe it or not theres a difference between msp and protege tail lights. the clear part on the msp's have a pinkish tint to them and the proteges are just clear. i swapped with a local protege guy and couldnt feel better about it, the pink was killin me.

i went the way of APC a year ago and ive never really been sure if it was the right thing. I only like them on my car when my car is super clean (which i dont always have time for anymore). Because the taillights always look shiny to me so when the car is dirty it doesn't seem to fit in right....and then at night i REALLY dont like them. I just dont like the 3 dots. although since im never behind my own car i dont think about it too much. Been thinkin of goin back to the stockers only i sold them off already...need to find someone local to trade with.
but ANYWAYS...you said vodapass' ride right? im pretty DAMN sure he didn't have APC on his ride. He was so JDM (remember his side mirrors?) that im pretty sure he had the JDM or european tails. the ones where the white stripe has no pink (like the mp3/es/whatever) and its longer and wraps around the tail light more. I saw them over in europe and really liked them. just a slight change but true protege lovers will notice. i kept wanting to find a mazda dealer over there and bring some back only i had no room in the luggage.

I found a new tail that'll throw you guys for a loop, atleast the ones going for the smoked look. They're nowhere near legal, but very few aftermarket options are. Reason being, they have no red in the lens anywhere. You'll have to either get colored bulbs or LEDs.
The first pic you already know, it's the APC tail. The other pics are the ones I found on Ebay. It's a variant of the APC tail, completely smoked. I'd kill to see these on a black MSP atleast once, but not really my style.

your wrong buddy trust me. they look regular from the back cropped like in that pic. but the reflector on the side is missing and the white part wraps around more. jdm yo! i thought you knew about stuff like that!Pirana said:

what did you use to paint the amber?
