MSP Springs Conversion Help

the actual "Racing Beat" spring are designed to use stock struts, so the rear will sit normal

Can I assume that the MSP and the MP3 springs are identical?

I've had a set of MP3 springs sitting in a box for months now, thinking they would waste the stock struts in no time if I installed them on my 02 LX. After reading this thread, I still think I'll wait until I can afford new struts, so I can do the install all at once, but what I want to know now is whether the tokico blues or illuminas will sit right with the MP3 springs, or will I get the saggy rear end look?

Hi, any updates on this? i have a set of Springs, got them used, the guy said they where Racing beats, but how can i know for sure? I am going to use them on my stock struts, i have a regular Protege SE, so with the Racing beats, everything should sit fine.

But if I actually have the mazdaspeed springs then the car will sit low in the rear...... Now my question is what if I cut the MSP struts just a little bit, like 3 inches of the coil, will that help to bring the front down? i know its not good to cut springs, but just a little to make the front drop a bit?
(wiggle)

thanks

i "think" the actual racing beat springs have "Racing Beat" somewhere on them, and the mazdaspeed springs are just red with no writing on them.

If I have the MSP Springs what would be a good set of Struts other than MSP Struts... I called a local dealer, they said for the front and rears about $280...

both MP3 and MSP springs are different from the actual "Racing Beat" springs.

Last pics I saw, the MP3 springs had racing beat written on them. They are racing beat springs, but different from the aftermarket racing beat springs.

The springs that came on the stock MP3 are based on the Racing Beat design but made by Mazda.

so the general concensus is that both the MP3 AND MSP springs are useless unless paired with the struts they came with

For the most part. I liked them on my stock struts, but I was planning on upgrading the struts and springs anyways. They were good starter springs for me.

but wont they look like ass with the rear end sagging? thats the main reason for not choosing them for me, because the rear will be lower than the front.

OK I need to clarify some of the info in here which is inaccurate. MP3 rear springs are not short like the MSP ones, they DON'T have Racing Beat written on them, and yes they are VERY similar to the aftermarket Racing Beat ones, but not identical. Would you notice a difference? Most likely not except that the wheel gap would be different since they aren't quite the same length.
See this thread, and my post within it.

This post shows that the struts from MP3s DON'T have the high spring perch that MSP's have...

Yeah, it helps. If you look at my youtube driving vids, it doesn't look bad while the car is in motion.
