Does anyone know the exact weight of the stock Racing Harts on the MSP?? Without tires??? Just trying to figure out if I should get new lite weight wheels for auto-crossing.(mspblack)
I think it's like 25-30 lbs w/o tires. I could have sworn someone on here did a measurement a while back. Search button will fix all...but yeah....they're hefty as hell. I'll be getting light weight 16s or 17s for autocross after this season. Since I just started I don't want to go buying stuff that I don't need yet.
just get a dremmel and cut out all the fat from the back of the wheel!
just kidding. I love the Harts.
I think I am going to powder coat mine a shade darker.
The Racing Harts are 23 lbs.
Bridgestone RE040s are 22 lbs.
Kumho Ecsta V700s are 23.3 lbs in 225/45x17.
Kumho Ecsta V700s are 19.2 lbs in 205/40x17.
Hoosiers 225/45x17 don't show a weight on their web site.
Andy (Scapamouche) bought Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheels for $650 from Rishie; weigh about 16 to 17 lbs.
If you find a lighter wheel in a 17 x 7 with a +50mm offset, please post what you bought and how much.
Thanks. By the way, the car runs autox really well on the OEM Bridgestones. I won the WWSCC Yakima event street tire class earlier this year and have won the Oregon street tire class for this year.
1) Borrow a helmet if it's your first time.
2) Inflate tires to 40 psi...I didn't...I probably would have won my class and done less damage to the bridgestones if I had.
3) Find a proper seat position. shoulder blades touching the back of the seat, you should be able to put your wrists on top of the steering wheel)
4) Remember to just have fun...you'll be nervous on your first run; if you're not then I'd worry (unless you've got experience its a little intimidating) but once you get through that (they usually have an instructor ride with you first run and give you recommendations) you should be good to go!
Where I am it costs 20$ for five runs. There are prizes for each class (they're just little dash plaques), and one more for FTD.
Here is some interesting info, Raise your hand if you knew our wheels were made by Enkei. however its spelled. Don't believe me look on the back of one of the spokes of your rims. MMMMMMMUUUAAAHHHHH
thats crazy, wonder how they get off calling themselves a diff company. Although it could be like in the printing world, people will buy "time" on a larger newspapers presses to run their own product, sometimes we putour seal of approval on the publication for PR reasons
