I sooo feel you on that....but damn I can't feel that price tag... I'm so torn between the price of the Thunder V2 and the durability of the SteedSpeed esc since he redid it and says it's flows even better.

Wow, this is exactly the thoughts that have been going through my head all morning. I am one step away from installing a V2 Thunder but I almost want to just get a Steedspeed and be done with it for good. But the price is definitely too much for me too..
 
do what i did and get a t3 kit :cool:
ive got a pretty nice looking manifold and it was practically the same price as a steedspeed.
oh yeah my manifold also came with a free 2.5" downpipe and a cantelope sized turbo.

I have yet to hear of the Thunder v2 cracking so who knows. I just wish we had dyno's to prove either ones worth. I have no clue how much HP each one claims either.
You could always just sell me the V2 and get the SteedSpeed V2!!!

Stock motor?? how much boost?? Real turbo or China knock off?

oh its a real turbo... turbonetics t3/t04e 50 trim... oil cooled only though (bummer, but i gots a turbo timer)
itll be set at wastegate pressure for now - 5psi. once i hook up a knock light i might up it a little, and will probably run about 8 once i am full standalone on megasquirt... maybe more when i have alternate forms of transportation...
as for the built motor - i THINK its the stocker, but the more i tear apart my car, the more i find things that lead me to believe i could be forged. t-taps in the ECU (and split second logo on the battery tray), non-OEM hardware, missing bolts in the exhaust mani, missing hardware on the SMIC... someone went through a lot of effort to take it back to stock.
expect a "is there any way to tell if im forged without pulling the head" thread at some point.
