MSP Kenwood HU: Blank screen but cd and radio play

I did a search on 'Kenwood blank' and all I cam up with was one thread.

Has anyone else had a situation where the screen on the MSP kenwood HU goes blank, but the radio and cd player still play and all the buttons function?

I've had this happen to me several times. I can't seem to reliably make the thing fail, but it seems to happen at least once/day. It's a little annoying, but less so than resetting the damn HU just to lose all the settings again (and again and again ad nauseum).

I'm thinking of having the dealer replace the HU when I bring it in for my 1st [free] erl (as we say in Texas) change.

Yep...I had it. Once, that's it, ever...turned it all the way off, then let it flip, then flipped it back over and all was better. I'm beginning to think I'll be looking to replace this monster at some point as well, when superior funding occurs!

yeah ii see t alot with those kenwoods. i used to work at a car audio shop for 10 years..alpine dealer. now i work at a mazda dealership as a service consultant and i have seen those flip kenwoods do that all the time.my advise is if is if your car is under warrenty then take it to the dealershop and hae them warrenty the headunit..or you can do what i did and put an alpine int it

Yeah I'm gonna take it in in the next week or so for the 1st oil change. I'll have 'em change it out then. I'm tired of resetting the thing only to have it do it again a couple days later.
