MSP Kenwood Amp and subs?

Whats going on? My MSP has a factory KAC-529S. And mspeed101's factory amp is KAC-5201 and looks a bit different. Same watts. Why would we have different amps? Anyone else have a different one? Is one better then the other?

Does anyone else have the KAC-5201, if not, why is mspeed101 so special. lol! And I wonder what the difference is.

I don't know what the difference is but here is a link to the specs. for the 5201.

The MSP came with either the KAC-5201 or the KAC-529S. The 5201 is the newer model. Its just a matter of when the car was built and what was available. I would assume that the orange and black MSP's have the majority of the 529S amplifiers. There is very little difference between these amps other then the 5201 being butt ugly :D

ahhhhhh. Yeah 5201, that one is weird looken. Do you think if you had both speakers and both amps in the same car, if they would sound the same? I'm thinking of getting his amp and sub, and hooking them both up in a freinds car. Have one power to the trunk, then have a "Y" power spliter thing, so then are both on thier own power. I wonder if they would sound different...

Do you mean have a KAC-529S powering a kenwood 8" sub and a KAC-5201 powering another identicle kenwood 8" sub?
The subs would have top be in identicle boxes or in the same box to sound the same. Other then maybe some playing with the gains of the amps, they should not sound differnt.

yeah... I already had my sub in a single 8" wood box (not stock).
~ From the battery, run a power to the back, then split the power (one power : two power's) with a power spliter thing, lol. One "4 gauge" splits into two of smaller "8 gauges." Then have one amp powering one sub, and another amp powering the other sub. So the subs are the same, but amps are different. Would that sound good? The one sub by it-self sounds alright, nothing big. But with two subs, wouldn't it be better sounding?

The most importnat thing is that each subwoofer is identicle and in identicle boxes. Since they are not being powered by the same amp, they should not be in same box. The amps should be damn near the same amplifier and should be setup with a multimeter to ensure that there is equal power going to each subwoofer. Its best to have 2 of the same amplifer or a sinlge more powerful one.
