Msp=evo

the turbo will survive, depending on how you drive but mo boost = mo turkey = hurting turbo. If you want your turbo to live longer kill the bird...plus you get something to eat for thanksgiving LOL

ha ha, allright. I will prob upgrade BPV, see if it makes any difference, if it doesnt I will run dual setup with a BOV, if the compressor surge was there all along does the dual setup get rid of it or just quiet it?

remember an upgraded BPV will not help you unless you get a larger diameter nipple on the hot pipe and intake...

The dual setup gives you the BOV pssssh + no idle issues that you would get just running a BOV alone

Yeah I know, I guess what I am afraid of is running too rich with the dual setup, unfortunately I do not have the mechanical know-how to change to change the nipple sizes on the hot pipe and the intake, Does the dual set up fix the problem or mask it by changing the noise?

It is eliminating the surge respectively, the dual set up only tricks the car into not stalling out. You only run (extra) rich right after shifts due to the ecu thinking it is seeing a "slug" of air that isn't there anymore. Our car runs rich all the time on a stock tune, Mazda's safety system.

sorry for the thread jack

ok so I have hard pipes and a unichip hooked up. if I add a bov to the cold pipe will I still run rich after shifting? I upped the boost to 8.5psi and don't want to ruin the turbo. and would this dual setup cause any turbo lag?

would a tune solve it running rich after shifts?

lag: no
rich after shift: (uhm)

ok, I now know from another thread I need hardpipes to make the dual set up work. I want to replace the OEM BPV with a Forge BPV that is adjustable:
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri...ow_Off_Valves/part/MazdaSpeed_OEM_Replacement
and I want to add a BOV from forge that is also adjustable:
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri...otorsport/Blow_Off_Valves/Blow_Off_Valve_Kits

If you read the description of the BOV it says it is designed to replace the stock BPV and that it recirculates the air before discharging into the atmosphere, does this mean that I do not need the BPV anymore in the dual set up because this one piece acheives both? This whole issue is damn confusing ( not the reason for turkey but how to fix it)

Wow this thread got wayyy off topic.

As for the evo vs msp. Like mentioned before, its not the same comparison.

With the money that you saved you can always buy some bolt ons (ie intake, fmic w/hard pipes, full exhaust, and ecu piggy back w/a good tune), and you can definitely pull on an evo on the highway. Its been done and you will still have saved a good 8k. Its definitely your call. I love the msp and I have driven a modded evo. The size and feel is perfect for me.

i work at a mitubishi dealership, ive driven evos

for 42k here, there niiiice cars, the seats each are 5k, the bottom where your ass is, comes out to something like 2 900 dollars, haha, its a pretty spiffey ride....stock its fast as hell, looks NICE outside *the front of the car is bad ass*, and the engine/exhaust sounds mean

if i could drop 42+ fianance id probably buy one

as for the new lancers....id take my MSP over the 09 lancer any day of the week

In my opinion I would pick the MSP...To me i dont think evos are fast...Dont get me wrong, i like em but id perfer my MSP...I was kinda disappointed after i raced a evo mr in my stock speed...

They got a raliart lancer comming out too. Its going to be awd and turbo. It will have less power than the evo. And I love Evos and would trade speed in for one without a question, but on the other hand I think that they are over priced and I could get a speed 6 for a lot less. Oh and Evo 8 was the best one I think. And a stock msp cannot take an Evo, unless the driver sucks.

true but msp is all around a great car

It is until you start getting the stupid little problems that comes with this car. The MSP out of all the speed cars seems to have the most issues. Its a love/hate relationship.

I like my car but I was just looking at videos on youtube and I want an MS3 now. If only the msp could perform like that car. I wonder which one handles better. They had a video where the MS3 beat and Evo and and Sti. That car is a beast.

MAZDASPEED(all of them especially the speed6 and speed3) <33333333333333333333333 ftmfw and dont forget the fact that each mazdaspeed is limited in production, there are wayyyyy more evos and sti's on the road

I guess the driver in teh evo mr did suck...i mean i had him all through 1-5 till he got into that 6th gear and walked me...i had him by like 4 or 5 cars but still the evo wasnt stock but oh well lol id still like to race another evo as soon as i get my car back on the road
