Well, damn...
I just paid $200 for a msp ECU come to find out that I had one in the garage the whole time.
(I thought the number(FSAE-18881-A) was out of a p5/mp3 (the previous owner of my turbo kit didn't know) )
_____
so

Msp ecu #'s are

FSAE-18881-A
FSAE-18881-B
FSAE-18881-C
FSAE-18881-D

My stock 2002 lx ECU # was : FS8L-18881-C

nope they are not, i had the same ones too. dotn risk it i had fsae-18881-c
my car ran really lean. i just ended up buying an msp ecu for 150.00
just warning ya, ull blow ur engine. i ran mine for a week and noticed it didnt run right . those are n/a ecu's manual trans. the msp ecu i bought was mspo-18881. good luck if u stick with those ecu's u have above. btw i called the dealership they too said yeah fsae-18881-c is a msp part number, but i called mazdaspeed and they said those above part number are the old ecu's that were prograsmmed by them and the mspo ecu supercedes them.

damn, I'll have to get it flashed.

I have two "msp" ecus ( FSAE-18881-A) and my stock one at the moment.
(hand)

Hmm this is weird, My ecu says MJJ8 MSP0-18881

Mine is suposed to be out of a MSP as well but different for all your guy's part number except for the one that one a pic fo the ecu still in his car...

Your ECU is one of the newer versions.... 2003.5 mazdaspeed protege.

I think my FSAE-18881-A should be alright... I'll soon find out.

hmm... I guess I'll install my MPI

or

FM clamp + BEGI FMU

Confirmed : Both of my FSAE-18881-A ECU's came out of a 2003 Protege5.

This is retarded... I need yet another ecu or give in and install my MPI or RRFPR.

So someone screwed u and sold you a p5 ecu instead of a msp ecu? I would trace that back and file against paypal or creditcard company or something.

sorry u found out, but the bright side is u ddint blow ur s*** up. i knew it wasnt the right part number, all msp ecu's start with mspo.
