MSP down... this is what happens when people don't look

My back end got hit while I was sitting at a red light and the paint is not matched. I would recommend they paint the whole car because the "blend" effect is horrible.

glad to hear your ok, i had someone run me off the road and i totalled my protege and they just kept going, i hate people like that. I hope they don't total it, i hate to see another yellow msp gone. If i were you i would buy it back and fix it, its not in that bad of shape from what i can tell in the pics. i would say it could probably fixed for around 3500, i wrecked my old protege like that and thats about how much the repairs cost

I know the place and person very well...it just wasn't clear where the car went. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Stephane...even before the new shop.

Sucks your dissapointed and not sure what was done with the car but when it comes to rust...if you don't replace the metal, guaranteed the rust will come back. You get what you pay for.

I totally agree, and I understand the cost...just wasn't expecting it when he told me

when to check on the MSP today (I guess I do that alot) and the motor is already out. tomorrow the framemaster starts on the frame and Wednesday the welding. Thursday is paint and the motor is going back in.

I really wasn't expecting for them to move this fast so I might not be able to do any of the mods I wanted as I just won't be able to take time off fast enough (dosen't help that I need a new throw-out berring but the dealers don't have them in stock).

the big update is that I think I have found a way to fund the cars re-spray in its entirety and have found replacement doors to remove the major rust spots in 1 shot. We'll see how things go

try and make sure you get the Mani and the pullies installed. It will be so much easier with the motor out.

update:

went to the body shop on Wednesday to work on the motor, got the clutch and flywheel installed and the alt and WP pulleys installed, I didn't get a chance to attack the mani though but I'll take another stab at it another time

also got the 2 front doors home (thanks focus) today, they're off a sport20 so I can consider my car JDM y0 LOL j/k. I'll get the two rear doors tomorrow.

according to the body shop the engine should already be back in the car with the frame painted so next week the rest of the front end should be painted aswell then the rest of the car.

how are we doing?

not much news this week, spent a little time stripping down the doors getting them ready to be blasted and painted.

The car should be ready to get off the frame straightener table but the shop is on vacation this week so there won't be much movement this week

I am also in the process of stripping the replacement FMIC pipes so I can polish them up (long process) then I'll have to go down to the shop and re install the FMIC but I also need to replace the top bar of the thing to so that will get done this week if everything goes well

Got a call from the car rental place today, my rental car has been recalled (Toyota's Sticky Gas Pedal issue) and I have been given the keys of a 2010 Mazda3 instead. Much better car than the corolla even if its the base model. better handling, acceleration, interior, and yes even exterior (smiley and all)

Drove by the shop just to peek in the windows but they were all blocked out but I could see at the very top lifted in the air my yellow 03.5 spoiler on a lift, which means the car is ready for the next round of fun and excitement come monday
