MSCBE & Testpipe

Looking for a TP that matches with the MSCBE. I am considering ordering the Corksport but I am not sure if I need the 80mm or the stock 65mm version to work with the MSCBE.

Anyone have this combo or know which size that will fit?

The MSCBE should be the stock size so you should be able to get any DP that mates up to the stock size. If you went the Corksport route it would be the 65mm.

are you referring to the stock cbe on the speed3 or the aftermarket cbe offered by mazdaspeed?

The MSCBE accessory exhaust is 3". The STOCK MS3 CB is 2.5".

I am referring to the aftermarket CBE by Mazdaspeed. Sounds like I would need the 80mm in that case?

Well. 65mm is 2.55in. and 80mm is 3.1in. I have a 80mm test pipe on my stock cat-back right now.. it'll work just fine just as long as you have the 80mm gasket. It doesn't need to go inside the cat-back, just push it up to there and make sure it's flush and tight and there shouldn't be any leaks. (This is just an "in case" situation the 80mm is too big for you)

Yep I did the mm to in conversion....just want to make 100% sure this is the right fit before I purchase the TP. Thanks

No, I have the aftermarket 3" MS CBE. Darth Vader put it on his stock CBE and he says it is working for him.

No, it is not counterproductive. It will be invisible to the rest of the exhaust system, as it would have the capacity to flow better than the sections ahead and behind it.

The transition to the stock CBE does not reduce flow, at least not on the design of the TurboXS product that I am using. Nor would I think there would be a reduced flow on any other 3 inch TP.

There are a lot of us out here running 3 inch downpipes, connected to 3 inch test pipes, then connected into the stock roughly 2.5 inch stock CBE's. They work extremely well, even with 100% catless setups.

Done right with the proper transition gasket, this will not leak.

And once the 3 inch test pipe is in place, it would be a logical next step to go to a 3 inch downpipe in front of it. It would be a shame to have to buy a larger TP later if the DP is upgraded.
