Has anyone driven a new Lancer Ralliart? Just wondering how it compares to the MS6 when driving it. How are the paddle shifters and or how fast does it feel compared to the MS6? One thing I do like better is the option for a better factory stereo. Comments? Concerns?

EVO Ralliart sucks, why the hell did it came with the paddle shifter. It should have come with a 5 speed...But anyways, SPEED6 for the win.

Anyone actually driven one instead of just speculation and statistical numbers?

I have driven one multiple times, my boss' brother has one and i usually see him once a month in which we take turns driving the Ralliart as well as the MS6. This is what we have both decided,

The Shifting mechanism- as far as paddle shifters, aren't too bad on the Ralliart, they shift quickly yes, but it will shift for you if it feels like you should be whenever it gets into high RPMs. The "Sport" mode, is just plain funky. It holds the gear in place even when cruising and you should really be the next gear up for a smooth ride. Just plain weird. Definately should have had a normal stickshift.

Interior- Very, mmmm, how to describe this, Man-Boy-ish. It's nice, don't get me wrong but it's just not as sophisticated as the MS6. It has accent colors on everything while the MS6 just keeps it classy with the black. The Ralliart interior is what you expect an 18 yr old kid with some money to get. Not very comfy either.

Stereo- yes, it has a decent stereo, but myself, my boss, and his brother all agree that the BOSE that's in the MS6 is FTW.

Performance- As many times as we have driven the cars, we haven't had a chance to get them on a line, but the Ralliart is a progressive pull, while as I'm sure you already know, the MS6 is just straight, Balls to the Wall, Rocketship, "here I go, hope you can hold on" unlike the steady "okay i'm speeding up, faster, faster, faster" that the Ralliart provides.

Hope that helps a little bit :D

yeah that helps some....the only thing I dislike about my speed is getting a smooth shift when I am driving normal.....ok I understand when I am driving sporty the shifting is going to be a little harsh....but not when I am just driving around. Of course I need to look into a stage 2 shifter and thought about the rear mount....but the rear mount messes with my warranty and I have the extended one....so no luck there. Also did your boss' brother have the upgraded rockford fosgate speakers on his ralliart?

In sport mode, it's like being in 1st the whole time you are in a parking lot going 20 haha, it's always keeping the revs up real high and never shifting when a person with common sense should.
mmm...quite a dilemma you have there with that rear mount. lol.
I'm not 100% sure on the speakers but I can find out sometime today and let you know.

i lol'ed
and im going to agree with stormtrooper in the interior, im much much happier sitting in my car

Well hopefully this Christmas I am either going to ask for a TWM stage 2 or a protege garage SRI. I am thinking about the short shifter for drivability because I am actually fine with the performance of the 6. I mean it could be better yes, but I really could use the non-jerky shifting in Chicago traffic.

havent driven the evo ralliart but all this positive talk about the MS6 is gettin me pumped to drive mine home lol.

I kinda know what you mean when you say lack of smooth shifting. Honestly it just requires a bit more concentration (at least mine does) i'll occasionally space out and slam my GFs head into the window or spill my coffee but if your really trying not to jerk and you know ur speed it can be smooth. Small price to pay IMO for an AWD and a sportier clutch.

True.....I guess I need to concentrate on the shift points more and try out different rpm ranges....just drives me nuts on the days where I am trying to be smooth and it just isn't happening lol

yea ive noticed eveyone says the same thing.. its my first manual and i thought i just couldnt get it right then my buddy drove it whose never owned an automatic car and he stalled it lol. then got it and was worse then me.. so no worries.. but today i was driving in 4th i was spacing out and went to go to 5th and boom slamed into 3rd... that wont hurt the car will it??

Ok so I went to test drive a ralliart with the recaro seats. It was really nice, I did like the recaro seats option better than the seats in the 6. I also felt a little more cramped in the interior as I am a big guy at 6'3'' 230lbs. The acceleration in the ralliart was nice and smooth which was a plus, but I felt the 6 has more "oomph" when I need it. After driving it I actually did miss my manual.....I guess you don't know what you miss until you arent driving it anymore lol. So I guess I will be sticking with my 6 as I do like the exterior looks a bit better. I do give that hood on the ralliart is super sexy...love the vents. The exhaust does have a deeper note stock though which was neat and when you look into the exhaust you don't see little pipes built inside big heat guards as you do in the 6. They wanted 31,000 for the ralliart with the recaro package....ouch. I only paid 19,000 for mine when I bought it in '08 so it was a little over half as much for more car....can't beat that. I hope my car can forgive me for test driving something else....now watch my turbo will blow up or something (boom08)

Haha...not only did I tell them I wanted to stick with my speed....they called again last night offering me a brand new 08 lancer evo mr with every option that had just got in for $33,900 which I guess is good considering they go for $44,000 new usually. I told them I like the performance and the comfort of the speed better than the ralliart and that is the answer I got....a better car, but the fact is I don't need an evo. I have awd, turbo, comfort, and looks all in my speed for a lot less money as I only paid $19,500 for my '07 with 11,000 miles....beat that Mitsubishi.
