We're all over the place ;) Every IC is inspected and pressure tested to 35PSI before they leave, so that is all taken care of.

Thanks,
Anatoly

looks awesome! can't wait to see some numbers.
A couple things. I'm assuming the stock plastic cover will not re-install on your intercooler? Will this definitely fit the MS3, I know the engine is the same but the hood and engine bay layouts are slightly different. And lastly how easy of a job is the swapping of the intercoolers?
thanks very much in advance.

We're in the process of locating a MS3 to test fit our TMIC just to be 100% sure.

It took me 20 mins to swap the ICs out. It's fairly simple to do, just need to be careful of not dropping anything in the overcrowded engine bay lol, otherwise you'll spend over 30mins trying to get it out.

Thanks,
Anatoly

If you were local, I would offer my MS3 up for test fitting.

part numbers are the same at the dealers so it should go down no problem

Put it on an insanely hot motor and see how fast it can transfer heat???

Seriously here.... go drive the car hard, get out and touch the IC... it will be amient... wait 10 minutes and touch it, see how it feels???

Heat transfer is fast enough that they can bolt on the IC, crank the car, drive it onto the dyno wheels, and its long enough to make the IC too hot to touch....

Look, I understand that you're skeptical and really can't do much about that. The bottom line though, these numbers are 100% valid. I did notice that the stock TMIC already started heatsoaking even before we did a pull, and I specifically made it a point to cool it off with a powerful fan blowing right infront of it after I finished swapping it back in before we started the runs. I understand that what I wrote above may sound like something a potential customer would want to hear, but it's the truth. All the facts are there to support the claimed HP/TQ gains. The IC is much larger, flows more and cools better.

Here are the dyno graphs. The first graph is a comparison between the FIRST pulls of each IC and the second graph is a comparison between the SECOND pulls of each IC. Please notice the "under the curve" gains not just the peak #s!! Those numbers are even higher than the peak, claimed numbers. Also notice how pig rich the stock map is! With a free flowing exhaust, an intake and an upgraded IC this engine has the potential to make over 50whp because naturally the a/f map should lean out as the flow increases, even at the stock boost level! As can be seen in these graphs, the A/F did lean out a little with our TMIC, which is a good thing.

other than the upgraded TMIC was this dyno session done on a stock speed6 or did it have other mods done to it? just wondering... thanks

This car was bone stock.

Thanks.

yeah, we're just speculating until we know the details of the test session. for all we know they left the car on the dyno fans blazing while they swapped out the IC, that would make for a cool motor before during and after. we just dont know. I'm going to bet though just by using a superior core and optimized endtanks this kit will make power. Also, this is the same manufacturer who made that innovative FMIC kit with the custom intake pipe/maf mount. He seems to be on top of the game.

Both runs were performed under the exact same conditions;

The ICs were cooled off with a fan for 10mins at the beginning of each session (not each individual run)
The pulls for each session were done back to back.
The fans were blowing from the start of the session to the end of the session.
Both runs were done in 4th Gear.

That's it.

for those that cannot get the link to work; see attached graph 20WHP and 20LB/FT of Torque Gained Over Stock!

Hey,

I did not mean to disrespect you or the members of this forum. The reason why I posted a link is because a lot of questions that the users here might have are already covered in that whole thread.

Thanks,
Anatoly

Those stock HP numbers look low? Only 209?

all wheel drive cars typically dyno lower in my experience to the wheels versus two wheel drive cars - the torque numbers are still up there, however

From the other dyno's I have seen, the torque numbers are pretty accurate. But the hp is usually in the 230 range.

So Mazda's claim of 274 hp (stock) is BS/marketing hype or just measured using a different method? All this is really depressing me if it's true, seeing these much lower HP numbers............

I have seen numerous dynos with stock numbers anywhere from 220-230whp....Never have I seen or heard of one that low....209whp....that seems pretty fkn low guys....So If I buy this Top Mount and I dont see 20whp gains than you will refund my money right? I will glady dyno my care with the before and after.
