MS3 will be in Need for Speed Pro Street

SWEET!!! This just sealed a definate purchase for me! Cant wait now! The demo was good, but having the MS3 in it will be even better

Basically, if you remember the "Underground League" races from NSFU2, its an entire game based around those, for lack of a better word.

(alright)Winner! Those races were occasionally frustrating, but they were my favorite part of that game. I was pretty disappointed that the games after that didn't have races like those.

I'll probably pick it up as I always do: 6 months after it comes out, for $20!

anyone remember nfs: porsche unleashed? loved that game.
Greatest game!! Loved it. Still do. :D

I liked alot about NFSU2. Driving around in the city, the wide variety of races/events/tasks. I just hated that all cars modded performed roughly the same and the rubberband AI was horrible as well.

Oh, and the soundtrack got annoying quick.

I downloaded the Need for Speed: Pro Street demo on my 360 last night.

To answer some questions:

-It's not street racing, but sanctioned events as previously stated.
-The demo races I did were during the day.
-The cars actually act realistically!
-It's very easy to crash, and you can't just drive off the road and what not as your car get totaled.

Hope this helps some! And I forgot about Need for Speed Underground 2. That was the best in my opinion! PS2 Online FTW! :)

i wish they made a realistic game where you can street race, drag race, and auto x. And get out of your car and beat people up. lol i love GTA

Dont' have it? Get it!

So I picked up a copy of NFS Pro-Street yesterday and pretty much spent all night playing the game. Unfortunately the MS3 is a locked car by default (unlike in NFS Carbon) and I haven't advanced far enough yet to unlock it.

Something that wasn't in the demo which is worth mentioning is the car modification tool. I have to say this game breaks new ground in modding virtual cars, and I could probably spend days simply sculpting my unique ride instead of playing the game itself.

You get the usual mod options but the game takes it a step further by allowing you to tweak individual mod components to get the type of ride you're looking for (mainly between performance vs. handling). Think of the NFS Carbon mod feature x 10.

Each tweak you make alters one of three performance criterias... whereas on other/older games there is usually a single performance bar and you pretty much try to move the number as far to the right as possible. Three difference bars impacts the variety of driving styles in this game so it forces you to custom create a garage of vehicles each with different driving styles (blueprints) to use on different tracks. The three main types of races are Circuit, Drag and Drift... so the game is setup so that a single car modification you create will be good for one but not all three.

Now here's the cool part... the game logic takes into consideration the aerodynamics of a car which influences your performance capabilities. The more streamlined your car is... even after you mod with body kits... the faster your car will go. There's a wind tunnel and dyno feature that lets you guage what impact your mods will have on performance... allowing you to manually sculpt your car to peak performance.

The other new feature which I love is the damage logic. Up until now, cars appear to be immune to damage in video games (more or less). This allows you to full throttle the car around the course hitting everything in site and still finish in first place. Well... this damage logic levels the playing field and forces you to actually drive less recklessly around the course in a more realistic racing environment. Scraping a wall will damage your car's areodynamics. Hitting a barrier head in will cause more serious engine damage. Flipping a car totals it and makes it useless. So it appears damage has a direct impact on the performance of your car during a race.

Ok... can you tell I like this game? (boobs)

Can't wait to finally unlock the MS3!

oh noes! They didn't like it at all, really.

What sucks is that I have a Wii, and they said the controls are horrible on it. Hmmm...

I still can't buy the wii-mote as a racing controller. That just needs to have the strandard controller setup or an option to switch. Some things just work better with a regular game pad.

Been to Gamestop twice, once yesterday, and today, and they keep saying its being delayed for 360. Bout to go check out Best Buy, and see if I can just use the deposit I put down on it for CoD 4.

Well bought the game yesterday, and well....... Im bored with it already. Back to a linear format. Still has rubberband AI, and it has a learning curve for a 5 year old. Either that or Im better than I think at racing games(doubtful). Other than that good car selection, graphically gorgeous, controls are good, implemented a clutch feature which is ok I guess.

Its seems they are trying to send a message of "Get Racing off the streets" something along those lines on the load up screen. Which is fine. but this game has lost its edge without the "street racing". And the story or lack of one isnt there. I'll finish it and hope for the best. But im not getting my hopes up. Nothing will compare to the last Mission in Most wanted though.

Anyone have a other thoughts. I loved the series. And was really disappointed.

I dunno, I like the car selection, the new way they set up the drags...but drifting is retarded easy, and I'm smoking 500hp Corvettes in my basically stock 240 on the road courses. The top end races are fun though. I'll beat it, but for me, its just not NSFU or Carbon. Le sigh.

(ghey) that sucks... I had high hopes for this one. Guess I'll look into the Forza 2 patch in the future
