MS3 vs. Dodge Caliber SRT: Don't hate me

I rode in the back seat of a caliber when renting a car recently. I hit my head on the roof, legs were cramped, and my wife, who is shot, was also cramped. Also felt cheap. Like 1990 Dodge Shadow cheap. Please reconsider. Please.

not into the chrome but the rx-8 wheels have always looked awesome on the 3
I'm not either but that photoshop is awesome and eliminates 2 of the things I personally don't like about it's styling: The horizontal black bumper strip and those "stinkin'" multi-layered, hard to clean wheels!!
I likes... and thanks for the look, Nate... both high and low!!

Unless you like the stock wheels (or feel they'll grow on you) much of the value the MS3 provides is lost due to the fact that you'll have to shell out a good chunk of dough for some decent wheels. Add that onto the sale price and you're probably in a different class of vehicle.

Hopefully Mazda will have some factory options.... Those killer 18" GTI wheels are only like an extra $700 and totally make the car.

I seriously doubt the ms3 will have any other factory wheel options. Swapping out with the dealer will most likely be your only option.

you do realize the caliber srt4 will NOT handle nearly as well as the MS3 simply because it has a tall wagon/crossover body right

and i feel bad for you financially, keep swapping cars every 2 years, i thought you're tight on budget at the moment?

Chico, I love your posts, and you and I have traded some quips, as well as supported each other's opinions in the past, but where ya' been, Man? Mazda only offers wheel upgrades on it's lesser/base models. All others have one choice (an oxymoron, I realize) and those are the wheels they come with.
Look at the 3i: 15" steels w/hubs are standard. 16" alloys are the upgrade. And 17" alloys on the next model up (s & now t/gt models, for sedans.)
For the HB which only came in one model when I bought mine, now three different models, but still only one wheel choice... the 17".

Hmm... guess I never really took the time to analyze just how many wheel choices Mazda offers! haha j/k It's actually a good point though... Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part. I could've sworn I read how Mazda would be offering a 'mazdaspeed' upgraded wheel kit... again, probably just wishful thinking. I hope these snowflakes grow on me

I agree with you wholeheartedly there. As you probably know, they are one of my least favorite features of this new car as well.
I have read that post about the upgrades too. I think it was mentioned in the SCC article as well (or was that coilovers?), but would you really wanna pay what MS would want for them vs. a nice set of AM wheels?? From what I've seen of MS prices, you'd have to take out a second mortgage to afford them!
I'd love to get MS spring set for my HB... not too much drop and included rear camber adjustment arms, but for the $550 they want (as I remember) I could get two set of any other, including a proline kit + camber arms.
See what I mean?
