MS3 vs. 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4

i wouldnt even worry about it... its a caliber... its not even the same class as the ms3, thats a go fast econo for the cheap and poor alike. the engine is nice but everything else screams nono get the **** away! and even then the ms3 still beats this in the tq and thats all that really matters anyway, tell that to a honda owner LOL. fucken 150hp 95 tq, useless as s***, thanks for bringing vvt to our attention now go away

People said the same s*** about the neon. Myself included. The Mazda3 is an econobox as well, like it or not. Build quality may be better as well, but I'm reserving that statement for when I'm sure my engine isn't going to fall out.

I like it. Under 20k would be a milestone for any car manufacturer. 280hp/260trq for less than 20K? This is only good news for the rest of us. Like the Caliber or not, this only heats up the competition more.

Also, having 4 door, higher roofline cars putting out this kind of power is HUGE for the "family man". Kids, dogs, and stuffy inlaws fit in these cars with ease. When it comes down to buying a car, these things are big factors. The hard part is not the salesmen selling the car to me, it's me selling the car to my wife. (freak)

I like the last few responses from MS3 and mazda owners acknowleding the SRT4 caliber as a threat. Sure its very homely looking and looks like its on monstertruck suspension but I guarantee it will give the MS3 a run for its money.

A lot of people mocked the Neon SRT-4 until it came out and summarily began whooping econobox booty. Shame a lot of its owners were from the shallow end of the gene pool.

But you gotta give it to dodge, they build a stout motor and this thing might even have a decent interior. I'll wait till it debuts and I look forward to the comparos eagerly.

Ah, the achilles heel of the Neon SRT4. I think they will have that fixed this time. Unless they still want those fabled weight savings that made the Neon so light.

a stripped down version will probably be almost entirely plastic interior....ive driven in a cobalt fully loaded and it had plastic all over...it will compete going in a str8 line but all aroudn the ms3 probably handles better...str8 line its close with the 300hp 260tq numbers...but they lowerd it 280/260...cant wait to start seeing some on the street so i can laugh at the soccer mom lookin mini suv

as for the second part of your post, do you mean that its just an upgraded caliber?? if so, whats your point? we drive an upgraded 3?

all in all i think they did a pretty good job and im not sure you are going to be laughing too hard when it does hit the streets. i think you may be scratching your head instead

Don't laugh too hard, they could very well blow you into the weeds! Mopar Stage kits are nothing to mess with. Dial-a-boost, intercooler sprayer, I think they will be at 350 whp faster than you can blink!

I will still laugh because I already know the type of people that will be purchasing these ugly ass car things. I have never understood why people buy fast ugly cars. No matter how fast they are they still look like they hit every branch of the fugly tree. Luckily I won't see them for very long because they will probably fly right by me.... C'mon now. How many people thought and still think the MS3 is ugly or not particularly good looking. Heck I think the thing looks kinda butch and much of its appeal is its tire shredding power. I think after we see a few in the flesh the look might grow on us. It just needs to be lowered.
