MS3 to S2000?

MS3077 could be taken to the "dark side" and get greasy wrenching his own wheels. Just takes some encouragement. :)

Then again I am a bit of a redneck @ heart, having no objections to welding in shorts/tank top/flip flops with a beer in 1 hand.......

I would still be focused on offroading if it weren't for all the tree huggers and eco terrorists who drove us out of the forests of our beautiful state. Beware, they are coming for car enthusiasts next.

I think it's odd that someone who was so "pro MS3" and was getting down on the the rest of us for not showing we he deemed as proper support is posting about ditching the speed rather quickly for another car. I mean, I happen to think the S2000 is a fine automobile, then again I like all cars.

Swamp, this is yet another feeble attempt at trying to get under my skin. Get over it already, I really like the speed3 yet I'm not naive enough to thinks its the best thing out since sliced bread nor have I ever made any indication contradictory of this notion.

This sir is disturbing!!!! (headshake

I'm not trying to get under your skin. You seem wishy washy, that's all. You argue that many of us don't support the MS3 for what it is, and that you'd expect more from us. Then you start a thread about the possibility dumping the car.
Whether you stay with the MS3 or buy the S2000, you're going to have a very nice car either way. You'll be moving from a sledge hammer to a scalpel. Both tools are highly effective.
Me? 100k from now I'll still be driving the snot out of my MS3. I love it that much.

AHA!! i have a compromise

get the saturn sky/pontiac solstice turbo version

Interesting alternative, It's essentially the same engine as the new cobalt SS with a slightly different tune. Should be fairly beastly. I just can't get past the overall feel of recent GM products. I know they are lightyears ahead of their older products, Guess I am just spooked from being burned a few times.....

just because he's considering buying a new/different car, doesn't mean he doesn't love his MS3. there's nothing wrong with change.

i love my car but i've also considered cleaning up a 94 miata or something.

Exactly!

Im getting the new Camaro z28, 370 z when it comes out. Maybe even the 1 series bmw twin turbo. I cant live without torque. The s2000 is an expensive very impractical toy. Dont buy new. I have seen many used ones for 10k cheaper than new at Carmax. Carmax warrantiesfor a couple of k more covering bumper to bumper.

I thought of that to. However, I'm not a fan of the looks of those and I'm not too confident in GM's reliability.
Then why did you get all fanboy on people who were willing to discuss the merits of the new SS TC? Why have you argued that you'd never have bought something else because the hatchback is just so much more useful and then talk about getting a 2 door convertible?

My honest answer is: if you think you are going to be happier with an S2000 over and MS3, get whatever you want to drive.

But since it's you... you want an S2000 (maybe) and you brought it up in a MS3 forum. Let's give you the "MS3077" typical response to a thread like that.

"IMHO the MS3 is too much bang for the buck. Any S2000 driver out there better watch out; one day they'll run into a modded MS3 and they won't know what hit 'em!

+1!!!11!1!"

i've noticed there are a lot of assholes in this forum.

i guess people aren't allowed to change their opinions without getting flamed.

ms3077:
i personally wouldn't buy an s2k. if anything i'd buy a new twin throttle 350Z for $30k or maybe a slightly used one if you can find it. those run low 13's stock.

however, a buddy of mine got a white '04 ap2 with tan interior for 20k. it's real clean too. i like them, they're just not for me. he's single and he still regrets getting a 2 seater. and he loves honduhs. so, just give it a lot of thought.

i know that you don't feel like you're using the ms3 to it's potential by not using the cargo space but who cares man. i know you love your car. i don't even like when more than 2 other people are in my car. i rarely ever put anything in the back either. i certainly don't NEED a 4 door hatchback.

all i'm saying is think about it and don't worry about what everyone else is saying at all. btw, the older miata's are pretty cool. you can pick up a really clean '94 for about 4 g-units.
