Ms3 Rx-8 wheels

anyone looked into the 2009 rx-8 r3 wheels? 19'' forged aluminum alloy.

personally i don't think they'd look as good as the older rx-8s, but wondering if anyone else likes them

19s wud be sweet, its what i originally wanted. But the older 18" models are cleaner lookin IMHO. I do love the finish on the 19s though an intend on redoing mine at a later time with it.

The 18" RX8 wheel is 2lbs. lighter than our stockers and 1 inch wider IIRC.

It looks better too! Also, if you are like me and would prefer to "blend in" with the rest of the pack and not stand out too much, they make it look more like a stock 05 or 06 Mazda3 hatch.

So the speedometer and odometer will be slightly off? Will I bet putting more miles on or less? And can that be calibrated? I found my Protege5 was slightly off in stock form (at least if the GPS can be trusted over the speedometer).

They are actually upwards of closer to 24-25lbs, at least the shinka rx8 wheels that I've had, borrowed from the boyfriend.. They are quite heavy. Had no issue with rubbing with a lot of weight in the car either, fit great!

Not to split hairs, but I put a bare (no TPMS, no tire) RX-8 wheel on my digital scale:

You can see the lead balance weights, so for all intents and purposes, the RX-8 wheels are 22 lbs. even.

Kain you already got your RX8 wheels and mine haven't even shipped yet :(. Are you going to run those on stock suspension? What size tire are you going with? I'm probably going to do 225/45/r18.

I hope I don't lose too much wet traction with these. Yesterday my drive home from work was like a slip-n-slide for cars. Completely dry roads + sudden buckets of rain like piss pouring out of a boot ftwl.

Please post pictures when you install the wheels (thumb)

I only have one in my possession. Another is being shipped today, should have it before the weekend. And the last two, I'm waiting for the guy to have the tires/TPMS dismounted on them since he wants those. So if everything goes well, I should have these on in a week or so.

I'm swapping the stock tires/TPMS from the MS3 wheels to these since the tires only have 2,200 miles on them and I've never smoked them.

I've seen stock 215/45 Potenzas on RX-8 wheels in person and it's not bad. I won't have jack for lip protection, but it's still within the manu's specs for wheel width.
