MS3 Rust on Wipers

Found some rust on the base of the wiper arms. Not the blades, the actual fixed arms.

I'm curious if anybody else has seen this on their car, if it is a common thing?

You have to look closely, but I guess that's what I do cause it's my car.

Believe it or not, Mazda has a warranty against rust and corrosion. My 07' Speed 3 has it untill 2012 w/ unlimited miles. Take it to the dealership and see if its covered. They may end up replacing it.

There's a TSB for rusty wiper arms... but I believe it's only older MZ3s. Worth looking up though.

yeah I have some bones to pick with the local dealership and I am familiar with the rust coverage. Was just curious if anybody else has had issues with this.
