MS3 Mazdaspeed CAI - Canada Warranty Level

I noticed something interesting about the Mazdaspeed CAI's sold in Canada. It appears that based on the Mazda Canada website the CAI's are covered by the orange warranty level (the no warranty at all level), ie offroad only.

I spoke with a dealer today (Gyro) and they indicated the same thing. So it appears that Canadians may get screwed, the dealer is calling his Mazda parts rep. to get confirmation of the CAIs availability in Canada and the warranty level.

I don't know how they do it elsewhere, but my dealer honors all work they perform on their vehicles here. They said they would install the CAI and exhaust and maintain my warranty with no problems. Heck, they even got a dyno here and will do my runs for free before and after CAI and exhaust installed! They even put superchargers and all that other good stuff into 'Stangs for customers WITH full support! That's my kind of dealership, mod friendly.

Anyone interested in a MS3 or MS6 in Rhode Island or the Northeast, lemme know! I can get you in contact with my salesman.

That's an excellent dealer! But they're only 1/2 of the warranty equation. The area rep for Mazda and his/her superiors are the other half unless the dealer will pay out of pocket for what Mazda doesn't cover. Since Mazda reps have recently denied claims based on aftermarket BOV, don't expect Mazda to willingly cover much when mods are added to mix.

Mazdaspeed CAI IS NOT avaliable in canada. i just come from the dealer and they told me they WONT have it. If you have a PN i will bring it to them just to see.

Time to call Mazda Canada for all us Canadian owners and put some pressure on them. Or at least have them let us buy it in the US, and get the benefit of the same warranty level.

They are available. Why else would they have a canadian catalog in the mazda canada website. I have checked with my dealer and the part numbers and prices show up in the system and they can order it.

they dont ... at least not mine. The mazdaspeed catalog is for normal 3/6 nothing for mazdaspeed 3/6 in that catalog. Can you give me a part number so i check again with them?

pdf of the actual book for Canada, on the mazda canada website for 06, so no MS3 accessories yet, but already has MS6. My dealer has a hard copy of this book. MS6 parts is just after the reg 6 and before rx8, with part number and warranty color code as well.

Went to downtown Mazda today (in Toronto on Lakeshore) to ask about the MS CAI for the MS3. After about 10 minutes in the back the parts guy came out and said, it will be C$460 and I can have one in about two weeks.

I was a bit surprised given some of the news I had heard, so I double checked it was for the turbo motor, he said yes for sure. I also asked about warranty level, he said it is the green level, and won't effect the warranty on the rest of the car. He said it will come with a warranty card that confirms that.

So I had him order one in for me, I have not paid yet so he said he would check his cost to see if he could do a better deal. So time will tell, I'll let people know when it is in. That dealership certainly seemed a lot more knowledgable then the guys at Gyro I spoke with last week.
