MS3 and unsuspecting passengers.

ast night i over indulged and my buddy drove me home in my car. he was the only one at the gathering that had a manual and its an old S10. he had never been in my car before, let alone drive it. needless to say we took the long way home and he was grinning from ear to ear, meanwhile my drunk ass was grabbing the oh s*** handle in the twisties.

Haha, it's great seeing things from a different perspective

Not to start a flame war...but how the f##K is a caliber faster than us...???

Relax man, not saying it is, I love my MS3, just going strictly by hp ratings 285 vs 263, not by handling or anything else, the ms3 spanks the caliber six ways from sunday, just wanted to get thread back on topic, sorry

Sweet...(hump)

I got a story, yesterday went to gamestop and there just so happened to be a, what do you know, an srt4 caliber in line at the mcd's. Parked had about 10 minutes before they opened. Asshole new what I was driving but had no idea that I was the sleeper I am. Drives by me slow, mind you I have dark tints and it was a muggy morning here in Miami yesterday, revs up his engine...my friend tells me, "yo, rev that s***, blow him out of the water"...of course I do and the guy just speed off like he wanted nothing to do with me. Mind you, he had an unsuspecting kind of cute chick with him....buahahahahahahaaha!!!

The numbers don't support that. It runs about 13.5@103 in the 1/4 and sub-5 second 0-60. If you look at the C&D comparison tests:

The Evo bests the MS3 in 5 - 60 rolling starts, 30 - 50 roll ons, and 50 - 70 roll ons. Plus there is no way the MS3 can keep up on a track. I'm not sure by which metric you could ever call the MS3 faster.

That's the GSR version; it's lighter and can get off the line quicker. Can’t just go off of one set of magazine stats but that’s beside the point. Also, those test were done in "top gear" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gear - It doesn't take a MS3 10.6 secs to get from 30-50 mph when the goal is to go as fast as possible so your mag racing has failed you. Is this really the method you go about in determining which car wins from a roll? lol! like I said in real life they're close from a roll and I never mentioned anything about a MS3 keeping up with an EVO on the track.

Back on topic, I took my boss out of a ride and nearly gave him whiplash.

I'd say the Evo out performs the Speed3 in everything except quality of the interior. I was test driving a few used Evo8s and 9s before I picked up the 3. The Evo handled and pulled better, but the interior was lacking. However, I'd say a 3 with a few mods could easily keep up with an Evo.

Another good thread soon to be in the dumpster due to the MS3 vs Evo vs WRX vs cobalt vs SRT. Can we just have one sticky for all these useless debates? I for one am tired of it.

"That's the lighter version, that doesn't count."

Sure.

As to the rest of your post: way to tip your hand MS3077! You were doing so well with this user, too. If you're going to keep arguing take it to PMs so I can more easily ignore you, and to stop cluttering up this thread.

As to the guy who said "GET BACK ON TOPIC." No offense, but I don't find unrealistic comparisons between our car - which is a very very fast car - and other faster cars all that "topical" either. I'd like people to have a fair appreciation as to the performance of our vehicle, and saying we can in any way hang with the Evo X is out there. We can probably almost pace with it from a roll in third (just like we can almost pace an STI), but this is in no way a worth while performance metric.

As for unsuspecting passengers! A new story because why the hell not. I had someone in my car the other day that thought it was just a Mazda3 hatchback. I stomped it at a light and ripped up to about 45, which got a nice "Ooooooh shiiii - " reaction and a grabbing for the holy s*** bars. I love it when I get to do that.

I was talking about the "MR" version from the get go and I'm not cluttering this thread anymore than you are.

In the real world full throttle burst of speed in 2nd-6th gear is a very worth while "performance metric" to consider. This is what surprises people the most about this car, its abundance of torque makes for very quick acceleration as long as launching isn’t put into the equation.

It seems to be the same members here and at the other site that start arguments.

The Speed 3 is the fastest car

in my drive way.

dont make me bring up camry, accord, titan and tundra argument vs ms3.

Note: I AM NOT COMPARING

To be honest there is no comparison between the new camry and the MS3, but you have to admit the new camry rockets from 0-60 in a shockingly fast manner for a family sedan :)
