Holy shizzlesticks batman!!! NIGHT and Day difference!!!! no dyno sheets to prove it, not much of a dyno queen. Ill admit i was skeptical but i found a ms cai for 300 bucks and that really isnt alot of money so i said why not. and oh freakin yeah!!!

I'm doing the install tomorrow. Can't wait to be yelling ShizzleSticks! myself. With all the dynos already posted I'm sure the intake will be felt. But I'm really interested to see if it helps the carbon build-up on the tip.

It won't.

What dealer did you get your MS CAI from? My dealer can't get one until mid July. I want to email/call them and see if they have more. I want one so bad! lol

i got mine from peoples mazda here in vegas. but they had to get it from another dealership

It sure does affect the gas consumption, but it's not meant, by any means, to make it run properly.

I don't know why everyone feels the black tip is a bad thing that NEEDS to be fixed. Maybe not convenient considering the cleaning up necessary, but it should be expected and welcomed with a factory turbo car. You'll only "fix" it when you get the ecu tuned appropriately.

The black tip problem is not limited to the speed3; most 3's (including my own 2.0L) have it.

and a CAI is not a solution.

i just put my ms intake on too..

first impression, its louder than i was expecting... i put an intake on my last turbo car, but i guess this is more noticable because it puts the intake right there near the driver...

it does make a noticable difference in power though...

People aren't used to seeing black soot on the exhaust, this constitutes a change so most people feel thay have to b**** about it. What kills me is people b**** about something that affects nothing, other than them having to clean it more often.

The MS CAI will cause the A/F ratio to go somewhat lean and it will usually take a day or two for the ECU to compensate.
Until the ECU "re-learns" as a result of adding the CAI, it is better to reserve your judgement about the power gains.
Unfortunately, the most likely result is that the power will decrease as the ECU richens the A/F mixture.

By decrease you mean from what you first notice when you install, not lower than stock :)

I read somewhere there may be a ecu reflash that will help reduce the black buildup on your exhaust tip. It is only a cosmetic problem. There is a celica in the lot where I live that has half of the bumper covered in black, I would say we have it pretty good compared to that guy :)

According to some Dyno's I see, It adds somewhere from 15 to 25 HP..
(It was the same case for the TL-S I am about to part out now)

If you had to guess..how much? 10? less?

yeah maybe 10-15. I dont think it was 25though. It just has more of a crisp responsive feeling over the stock airbox. I notice it more at speed(say 50+) than off the line. all in all, id say its worth it

I feel more response and less lag which may result in feeling like there is more power. My friend and I both have a Ms3 and he has no CAI and notices the difference big time between our 2 cars.

PS the sound it makes is worth every penny but the actual performance just makes this choice a no brainer.

Where are these dyno sheets everyone is talking about? Has anyone independantly tested the stock setup, and then the new intake back-to-back?

By independant, I mean, not the manufacturer or retailer.
