Tip bit info, but may not be factual

Just spoke to one of the dealers here in Austin, Texas about Mazdaspeed. Mazda South in Austin said they pre-sold 6 cars already, but won't be receiving anything until 5-7 days from today 11/09/02. After a week, they should receive 20 Mazdaspeed delivered to their lot.

I got about 2 weeks, where I can actually still test drive the car if it comes in. Once Dec. hits, there's too much snow to really test drive this car, and I won't be trading the mp3 without knowing that this car is worth it 100%.

Thanks dpmssp. your account was helpful. wish i was there to see the black models. i've seen and sat in the orange one at an auto show. Still awaiting those locally to arrive.

I went by there yesterday and they had moved a whole bunch with no spoilers to the finishing yard and I am guessing that is where you saw all the orange ones right off the highway. I did see them driving finished ones to the south lot, I will try to get down there and take some pictures later today. I will let you know what i find out.

If the other 200 are done then we may actually see our cars before the end of the year, but if they are not finished then I would be surprized if show up before christmas. I have already told my dealer/friends that they will owe me a set of snow tires if I don't get the car before the end of November.

That's a pretty good idea Digi ... I might try that on my dealer. Be careful though..... the rumours are the msp may be a bit of a handfull in the snow and free snow tires may equate to crappy snow tires .... I can't imagine they would be top-of-the-line. Thanks again for posting the pictures ... they were the inspiration for a great little road trip.

I told them I want the michelin Apline snow tires, since that is what the parts department there sells, and since they promissed about 3 months ago and now have said between the 15 and 22nd, we will see. I would rather get the car now then later but, there isn't much that I or we can do about it. I think our US friends will get their cars before us. I would really like to get it by the 15th.
