MPI tuner map. I need one

I got my mpi tuner wired in today and I need a map a little closer to my setup. MPnick sent me a map but it's deans and is way too rich for me. I have perrin fmic, 3" exhaust, Injen Intake and a wbo2 to tune with. I need one a little closer to my setup. I do not have the extra injectors but will be getting them.

Also: I data logged a drive earlier, but when I try and play it back it wont work. I can see the file name, but when I hit the play button nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to be on line to watch my data log. Someone please help.

ya know i havent figured out the data log yet either.... oh well i dont care anyway (thats why you need someone to tune while you drive).... i'd post my maps but i dont have the fmic, it'll be quite a bit different.

I hope you got the maps you were looking for. I woul dgive you mine, but I have the MP3 and is a bit different from yours.

As for the datalog/playback. You have to be offline, goto palyback then click "Load Record File" Once it's loaded, then you click run. It sounds like you have already done this. Maybe you did not record anything when you started logging the run. Were you online while logging?


chkmgnt58---If you want to log, goto tools, start logging mpi_tuner. It may ask you were to put the files at first, but when it is logging, you will not really be able to tell. The only way to tell is to go back under the tools menu and see if it says stop logging mpi_tuner.

After you are done logging what you want, stop the log then go offline to view it. Go through the steps above. As long as you are online while logging, everything should work fine. There are no settings for you to change to make it work.

Yeah I got my rods. Still waiting on the pistons though. They should be here thes week.

Has anyone tried running the smt6 software from perfectpower.com? I downloaded it and was looking at the program. It seems to be a much newer version than the mpi software. You can download it for free and it doesn't seem to have the buggs that the mpi software has. Just a thought.

Don't try to use the PP SW, It will lock your box up. Nick has the MPI's special made and the SW is made for the HW he gets. Someone tried that and it locked the unit up and it had to be sent back. The MPI is not the same as the SMT6, it is based off it, but modified for the protege's for Modern Performace Inc.

Have you seen the pp software? The latest version is really nice. If we can't use the pp sw then he needs to update it because the pp sw is much nicer and works a lot better. The mpi sw will not let you watch a datta log unless you are hooked up to the tuner. I figured it out today. I can watch my log as long as I am still hooked up to the tuner as soon as I disconnect my laptop I can no longer watch my log (scratch) :wtf: I don't get it.

My turbo kit was the first one release and I had the SMT6 in the beginning. It did not work as well as the MPI does. When he figured out what needed to be modified, he had the owner of PP work with him to make a box and SW only for him and the protege's. So yes I have seen the new SW, but it costs a lot of money to have the SW updated to work on his box and I don't think he will be doing that anytime soon. The last time he updated the SW was when he came up with a new feature.

You CAN watch a datalog while disconnected from the unit. I have a deticated laptop in the car for tuning and one in the house for the internet. So whenever I look at someones datalog, I am on the Laptop in the house and not the car. There should be no reason that you can't watch the datalog without it hooked to the box.

with all the problems I see people having it seems that is was not modified enough. needing a voltage clamp and a seperate turbo modual seems kind of dumb.
I guess for the price though it not really that bad

ditto for me on the playback, although i must say i never use the playback feature as i drive while a friend tunes, but it'd be nice to tune alone for once! hah. by the way, did you get your maps working yet?
