MPI MSP car now running 21psi

well they turned it up to 21 psi and poked a hole in the piston.

i think it is all rebuilt by now though.

I saw dean had his car up for sale in the fs section.

i doubt hes sellin it i saw him today and he said hes racing in an event this sunday at english town,...and yes the plug was fryed due to low octane and caused some damage to the piston.
 
Yeah, I just talked to him today and he was talking about more things and the race on Sunday. Anybody want to come run him, it's at englishtown N.J.? I'm coming up for it, as long as there's no rain.
 
yea he told me he would pay for gas and throw him money if he ran a better time than him..
 
i think its actually blkzoom zoom from new york ....i made a mistake he claims to run 13.4 @ 102.9 with all stock parts and only ups the boost with the use of a fcd and fpr
 
he says he has stock internals, stock intercooler, stock injectors but everything else was played with

i think its all home made stuff. i remember him saying he ran his time with 800$ in mods. home made exhaust, IC spayer, stuff like that. it'd be nice to have a video of those 2 racing
 
Oooh I love this thread. I never looked here cause I don't plan on tuning for years, but now I will just to see the awsomeness of 300+ hp in a Speed :)

I have been running with torco in the tank and spiking 21/holding 19. I am still only using the MPI for EIC and timing, and everything is running great. It really seemed to smooth out after I got a full 1000 miles on the clock after resetting the PCM... I had never gone that long without throwing a code or making a wiring change that required resetting. Now I just need some new tires, lol.:)

That good to hear that everything is finally working properly.

How much timing are you pulling at max boost?

I have a -9 for the biggest number in the 8x16, and I am no longer using the 1x16 timing column at all.
 
so man..you cant sit there and say your running 21 psi and not tell us what its like? i am so jealous...

He has been waiting to run you down. No not really, he does want to race you anyway. At that boost level we are having problem with the plugs. We will have the new ignition system ready very soon.
 
I already got hit by one car this week....lol

I'm afraid to say I would take him, bad. Maybe not on the street but I'm damn good on the tree. I won out of a field of 84cars, I was the only fwd. and 1 of 2 stick cars.

Plus I'm getting pretty good with the stock potenzas.. 13.8 @ 8psi at englishtown with the p5 motor.

Spark problems? It's not getting a powerful enough spark?
