MPG with automatic

I've got the auto as well, first handful of tanks averaged around 30mpg but have been increasing since. My wife's the primary driver now and she averages 35-36mpg per tank. I keep her tire pressures at 45 psi, definitely saw an increase in mpg once we pumped the tires up from spec, and no noticeable uneven wear (yet.)

All that said, I've got a lead foot compared to my wife, so it could simply be the change in driving habits that increased the mpg's. She always complains that her tank average drops whenever I drive it...my excuse: I manage to get 40mpg in my TDI and still have plenty of fun exercising the turbo (whistle)

Man too much air! My tires max inflation is 44psi and only reason to do this is if I'm carrying max load tires are capable of. Otherwise your just spinning your wheels. Heh heh

Yeah, even 45psi is too high for me. The highest I've ever tried is 40psi and found that I didn't really see any performance/MPG difference between 40 and 38psi.
