Hey guys, i have an 02 Proto 5, MANual! haha I've been looking around for awhile now and havn't had much luck. I'm looking for a mid wing for my back window. Can anybody help me out with some past experiences? I was thinking if I can't get one made specifically for the MP5 I could prolly get one off either a jetta, a suby outback, or a matrix or vibe and just mod that to fit the Proto

Are you talking about something like this?
If so, I know it involves drilling the hatch and if you decide you want to run without it and remove it and fill the holes with pushpins painted silver to try and be discreet vs. paying hi dollar to have them filled, it'll look like this.......
I know you'll lose lots of sleep over it being a non-approved mod by the masses til you finally succumb to peer pressure and remove it whether you still like it or not. lol, that part was sarcasm. I got tired of it and just took it off and put those plugs in for now because I'm sure I'll get tired of looking at the plugs and put it back on at some point just to **** with people on the forum out of spite for the hell of it.........or maybe it'll just sit on the surfboard on the rack on the wall til the world ends, who knows.
I did see one way back in the day that did not have the clompy feet pointed up the hatch but instead went down under the wing. Haven't seen one of those in yrs tho.

The filler pins or the wing? Don't jack with me, I'll reinstall it, lol.............If the feet went all the way up to the bottom of the top wing or angled down to transition into the hatch, it would be better but still (sigh) the shopping cart handle comments would flow. It enhances a coupla body lines but also destroys a couple too. I had it for months before bringing myself to actually drill the hatch to install it.
