MP3 Trade-in Value

I am thinking about trading in my 2001 Mazda MP3 in. I am wondering what I should expect for a trade in value. It has 38,000 miles, and in good condition. It could probably use at least 2 tires.

In case you are wondering, I am looking at the 2004 toyota tacoma. (On a side note, the toyota sales person knew exactly what my car was, he knew alot more than any of the mazda sales people knew about the MP3.)

Thanks
Tim

9400 to 11000 if you work the deal

From what I've seen this is the range. It all depends on what source you use and how much you can push the idea of a limited production car on the dealership.

If they can charge some rediculous mark-up on a new car that is supposedly limited or rare, then why can't you mark it up on trade in?

its all a numbers game with car dealers....thier profit is thier only interest. the more you are willing to pay for the tacoma, the more they will give you for a trade, the less you pay for the tacoma, the less they give you for a trade. what they give you on paper dont mean crap. you have to figure out a fair price for the deal and negotiate your way into it, or else you will get ripped off.

your always better off selling your car yourself and then making the deal on the new car. dealers have huge mark ups on used cars, one of the reasons being the low trade in prices they give.
