MP3 BLUE
My dealer told me they would replace my steering wheel under warranty (leather peeling --;;) and placed the order..about a month ago. They called me back recently saying that the were told the steering wheel was discontinued and therefore they cannot replace it. However, they said they would "keep the order in place just in case(?)". So after gettin off the phone with them i called MAZDA USA (weeeee~) and the customer service lady called the dealer. John (service department dude) went to the BANK and could not answer the phone. Anyhow she was gettin off work in like 30 minutes so she told me she'll try to call back and if she can't get a hold of John or the service manager, she'll call them on monday next week and give me a call back.
IF the steering wheel is discontinued, do you guys think it would be possible to maybe replace it with the MAZDASPEED steering wheel?? aren't they the closest thing to the mp3's steering wheel?? does anyone have a pic of it?? thx guys.

The MP3 wheel is still listed in Mazda Motorsports' catalog so they should still be available. The Mazdaspeed wheels are very similar but not identical, and they don't have the Nardi logo on them either.

how much does mazda motorsports list it as? mines cracking too  think the mazdaspeed ones are stitched with a different color right? orange or yellow?

just have the leather replaced at a shop much cheaper then getting the wheel replaced. i woud do that before getting the msp wheel. see if the dealer will pay to have it done

The mp3 wheel is nicer then the Mazdaspeed. I've owned both and miss the wheel in the mp3. I don't care what anyone says, the wheels on the Mazdaspeed's are NOT leather. If it is, it's the crappiest leather ever made. Feel your dash, then the wheel....NO difference. Not in mine at least, or the Orange one I drove.

I guess the disadvantage though is that they will peel. My mp3 one was just starting to before I gave it up. But it felt soo nice. The damn shifter was peeling too, but I don't miss that at all.

hmmm...i still have the original leather steering wheel in my miata...no peeling, just a lil' faded ;)

I think there's a law that replacement parts have to be made for a car for at least 7 ears or something. So it SHOULD exsist.

Manufacturers have to produce spare parts for 10 years after production ceases. Now I'm not sure if that's every single part (probably not), or if it's even a law...just something I know.

I couldn't ever imagine leather peeling...sounds like vinyl to me. My Neon had a leather wheel and at 5 years old it was just faded. Either that or Mazda is using really cheap leather.
