2008 Mazdaspeed 3 GT Black Mica
Well, I traded my Speed 3 in on a 2007 BMW M Roadster last weekend. I had a lot of fun in the Mazda, and lurking (and occasionally posting) on this forum, but it just hasn't been the same since Kain ditched the Nigel Tufnell avatar.

Have fun, guys. See you out on the road somewhere.

(drive)

Its because Kain is the most interesting man in the world.

Have fun with the Bimmer! Get a good deal on it? I am looking to get into a weekend car but might have to be put on hold for a while.

you lucky bastard. That things got some power, too, especially with the E46 Motor...

have fun with it though. Any pictures?

this is total Bull$***, you can't post this without pics of the M.. can I asked what you got it for.. options.. PICTURES?

No pics yet because of crappy Oregon weather. I'll get some up soon. For those of you with vivid imaginations, it's black (or "black sapphire," as BMW calls it), with black leather interior.

I got it for $32,500. Options include Premium package (bluetooth, premium sound, heated seats etc.) and navigation system. It has 16,000 miles on it, and two years left on the warranty (including free maintenance).

wow. you stole that. those are great cars, and i'm a huge BMW fan, so I think you made a wise choice. I have an 01 X5 3.0i with 130,000 miles and it still looks and drives brand new. I also have an 08 335i 2dr. both awesome to drive, and you gotta love the I-6. Is it a 6 speed?

Yes, it's a 6 speed. I don't think they offered any other transmission on the M roadster, which is just fine by me.

I was very happy with the price. One of the few good things about the state of the economy - good deals are out there.

if you don't mind me asking, how much did you get on trade in?
what was the year and mileage of your ms3?

enjoy the new car

We got a break in the weather today, so I snapped a couple of cell phone pics at lunch. It needs a wash, but you get the idea...

nice! maybe i'll be joining you soon :)
i'm hoping to get 14.5k for my 08 with 22k miles

Is yours a GT? If so, and it's in decent condition, you should get at least that much. Their first offer on mine was 15k, and it wasn't too hard getting them up to 16.5.

Me too; Carmax offered me $13k for my 2007 GT with 52k miles- and the heap will soon need tires and front brakes. The two front runners for its replacement are either an E39 M5 or an E46 M3- although a 135i M Sport and an E30 M3(with only 52k!) are also possibilities.

I personally would be very torn between the E30 and E39. The E30 is sooo sick, and the the purest "M" car, next to the E28 M5. However, the E39 with Meisterschaft exhaust is the most amazing sound that a V8 can make

I had an E24 M6; I still kick myself for selling it. I like the E30 but I'd hate to put a lot of miles on it. An M Coupe would be my first choice if I didn't require a four seat car.

to be honest, I dont love the E24's. I love the motor, but the styling isn't my thing. Get the E39 if you're worried about miles. I loooove E30's so much, but I agree. It would be tough to put miles on one, and yet they are supposed to be amazing to drive. T'would be tough lol. You wouldn't believe this, but a few months back, I found an E28 M5 with 12,000 orig. Miles. It was literally brand new. It sat in some dude's collection for like 20 years.

This is an E30 that i love...

I always liked the E24s, when I needed a usable back seat I sold it and started looking for an E28 M5. Never could find a good one- and that was back in 1995.

i have not tried carmax yet hmm
i saw they were selling ms3's for ~19k ish so i figured they would offer 14-15 for my 08. if i can get 15-15.5k i would do it in a heartbeat

i was set to buy a 370z w/sport package but they offered me 13.5k on the ms3 when i had 18k miles on her, so i walked.
