Hey I'm new to this forum. I just got a 2006 Mazda3 and would like to start doing some audio modifications.
I would like to replace all my front speakers with home audio speakers. I wanted to replace the tweeter only, but then i realized most home audio is 8 ohms, while the stock woofers are 4 ohms. So I decided it would probably be easiest to just replace the door speakers too. I dont want car woofers because they are all coaxial and i have separate tweeters (and I cant find just plain woofers, other than ones that come with component systems and i dont want to buy extra tweeters).
So basically, there are many options of home audio woofers. The problem is that many of these are pretty deep. Also, I am willing to build an mdf mount to give myself extra room. So what are the deepest speakers you all have used? I've seen many that are around 3 inches, with the lowest home audio woofer being somewhere around 2.75, unfortunately, the smaller one seem to have inferior power ratings and frequency responses. So can I get a 3 inch deep woofer in my doors?
