Motor mounts

Looks like my side mount is torn (waaaa) im gonna go through it and see if I have any others that are messed up tomorow.

NOw I have the 1.6l. Can I use the awr motor mount inserts for the 2.0? Does anyone make them specifictly for us? Anyone wanna recomend a harness for the auto.

I changed out my front and both sides just a few weeks ago. Both the front and pass side was torn to hell. I had 2 guys with their MSP and P5 and both of theirs were torn also. I think thats a common problem.

yeah, it's a common problem with such high hp engines, the motor mounts just can't take it

pfsst...hilarious. our mounts just suck bad. basically if you buy a protege or something. get motor mounts immediatly. AWR makes good ones. and street unit has some, and there is a GB going on about new mounts too.

Think my front driver's has been torn for a while......it used to bottom out a lot but when i installed my front awr mount a while ago, it fixed it!

yeah just buy all 4 of theAWR ones. i hear good things. my motor mounts were so bad. and i didnt know too much about cars..than my buddy showed me what was wrong. and i was liek ****. get it done. so i did.

actually i have an extra set of AWR motor mounts if someone is interested.

The AWRs are good, but do all 4 and get the 70 durometer bushings if you want the car to be bearable on the street.

there is no replacement side motor mounts available for our cars. Although you CAN get inserts. Pass. side mount insert doesn't really do anything...it keeps popping out even with the supplied zip ties from AWR. driver's side mount insert on the other hand does a great job.

Not sure if the inserts (2.0L) will fit on the 1.6L as I don't know what the 1.6L mounts look like.

Ive done some reserch. It looks like the 1.8 and 1.6 front left and rear mounts are the same. There might be a chance we could use awr stuff.

According to this old post

seems like they all use the same front mount, but all other mounts are different
the 99/00 1.8L has the same front, left and rear mounts as the 1.6L

Can anyone double check these part numbers for me. It seems prommising, Although we would still be screwed on the right mount that I need, Im gonna just buy some window weild.

Go ahead, Im really interested and need a front mount.

I went to advance to check up (for some reason they dont offer right mounts for the pro anymore wont even order them) FOr sure Ive found that the 1.8, 2.0, 1.6, msp mounts are the same for the front and trans mounts (auto only). These I know are the exact same the others might fit anyway though.

UPDATE:
Advance online sells a solid rubber right motor mount for us. Solid should be better then stock at the least, for $80.

lol not only the steering wheel, but the WHOLE inside. Everything that will have a potential to shake, WILL shake. I have all 4 AWR motor mount replacements and people say that its a crazy vibration. Even my mother said that it was her 1st and last time riding in my car......although motor mounts (front and rear) need about 2-3 weeks to break in. I actually got used to the vibration and no wheel hop now.

so all the mounts fit the 1.6? Cuz I think that would be a very worthwhile mod, since so many of us protege owners have done it... plus i know the stock ones are crap...

"1.8L has the same front, left and rear mounts as the 1.6L "
This means that everything that will fit the 1.8 or 2.0 will fit the 1.6 with respect to the front left and rear mounts. SO you can buy the awr fromt and rear mounts. And even the transmount insert.

The only diffrent mount is the right. But no one makes a mount for it so it doesnt matter. Im gonna need clarification on that one but I went out and bought a solid rubber mount from advance no vibration + nicer then stock.
