motor mounts too stiff

The vibration in the cabin isn't really my main concern. Theres something else that's rattling towards the front of the car. I don't know what it is. I've checked everything. I know its not the exhaust because I just got that problem fixed right before installing the passenger side insert. It seems like there's some sort of bracket or something else that is loose that I can't find.

Heat sheild???? Take them out see if its still there.

wheel hop was my main concern as it will bust up a bunch of s***.

The heat sheild is good. I took it off and it still rattles. I had an idle arm bracket get loose one time that caused a rattle but it seems to be ok. Wheel hop is definetly a concern of mine cuz that's what caused the bracket to get loose in the first place. But the main reason I replaced the front mount and want the inserts is because I've had a problem with my exhaust manifold having two bolts start to back out, one fall out, and one break off inside the head. That was a pain.

how do you breake you a/c compressor from bad motor mounts?

hmm...this i wanna hear!!!!

i had never ever ehard of anyone breaking a P/S pump, Water Pump, A/C compressor, or alternator because of a bad motor mount..

i can accept the downpipe..tranny, heck..even cv-joints....but the compressor?

come on

My rear was torn to s***, I just had the RR-Racing incert stuffed in and its great.

Good to know. Once I'm getting paid at my new job I'll have to pick those up. You don't have to go through the whole rear motor mount removal process to get the inserts in right? I've heard it's quite painful and includes removing the intake manifold, etc.

Thats it, you just stuff it in to whats left of the original mount, It doesnt budge now you can see the mount from getting close to the driver side headlight and looking under the intake (Not visible with the stock intake only CAI's or SRI's) when I hit the throttle cable the thing is SOLID even when I go a little ape s*** hitting it.

They are $55 shipped, and take about a hour to get in with Air tools and about 2 hours without.

FWIW I still hate my AWR 70's. The rear is coming out this weekend when I swap clutches, and one of Turfburn's filled stock rear mounts is going in.

I can't run the damn A/C at a stoplight because it kicks the idle up exactly to the point where the whole dash assembly acts like it wants to jump in my lap. That can't be good for things.

I agree with the whole A/C thing, but I highly doubt its gonna rattle anything loose or what not. I have 70 in the rear and 88 up front. A/C is pretty ridiculous but besides that its been over a month and I dont even notice a difference during daily driving anymore. Just put the windows down and save gas. (thumb)

i had a mechanic tell me their is a leak in my a/c unit somewhere but of course they didnt know where, all they do know is it doesnt hold the freon. i believe that w/all the movement of the motor, cause the motor mounts were through, the hoses had to take some of the stress from that. i dont think its the a/c unit either, but i wanted to check and see what others had to say. i dont think it was the vibration from the mounts either. also i wanted to check on prices here. bagmanl was pretty helpful.

I jsut put my 95 Surometer AWR's in (the stiffest they make) and sure the car rattles like a b****, but it's cool! I feel so much more connected to the car. And wierdly enough, I mostl iek when you turn the key it feels like there's actually some power lurking under there!

Yeah it is a pretty cool feeling but I probably still will eventually go with the turbo diesel BJ motor mounts with the automatic BJ roll dampener and front subframe piece. That just sounds like an awesome setup.

Did you do them all at once, or start with the front, then do the others?

I'm wondering how much of a difference adding a 70 durameter rear AWR mount will make. I haven't actually been under my car in about a week to take a peek at it, but I'm willing to bet my rear mount is toast. I don't really want to buy an OEM mount and have it rip again.

front and sides first, then i had to take it to a shop to do the rear they needed 2 guys to work on it, its that much of a b**** to do

the stock ones are s***, replace em all

i like to feel my car rattle it lets me know my mounts are working (first)

I did my own rear mount in 3 hours. I new record I think lol! Ya, it takes some getting used to, but all in all I'm happy with them.

I did the front and rear incerts, and Im letting them break in before I do the sides, and the sides need them, I see a small rip in the pass side mount (From before I put the F/R Rear incerts in.

Night and Day in reguards to wheel hop, burn-outs are crazy smooth.
