Took my car to the dealer for a coolant change and asked them to check my mounts. Turns out my front mount is torn. I don't wanna go back to stock and want aftermarket.

What is the best mount I can get??

Will I have tp change the rear too if I get an after market mount for the front?

Matt

AWR or SLR Performance. You can change just one or all four. Doesn't matter.

I am willing to bet if your front is torn then your passanger side is torn also! When I changed out mine we went on ahead and check the other 2 cars (P5 and an MSP) and sure enough the sides were torn. If you replace just the front then it's just a matter of time before the back goes out. The Front wont move and that will put all of the force to the weak (rear) mount.

NOW! I have a rear mount thats never been used for sale!!!!!!! It's a S/U mount. I sold the car before I could put it in.

They tear because they are made by Mazda. Oops, did I say that out loud?

I got the SLS performance, only front mount, and it's pretty good. Vibrations are noticable compared to stock, but nothing you can't live with.

As bad putty lame as the oems are it would really be sad if they didn't get torn. Even my sport autotragic tore a couple. SLS ftw (for 2 of them).

How easy are these to install? I've never even changed my own oil before. hehe
The front and sides are a peace of cake. 30 mins worth of work. The rear on the other hand is a pain in the ass! Which is why I didn't do it. But like I said, if you replace the front it's just a matter of time before the rear goes. The stock mounts just can't take it.

I have the RR-Racing insert on the front right now. For the first week or so it was vibrating somewhat and you know what? I liked it!

Now that the mount is broken in, the vibrations are nearly gone :(

I should put the rear one on I suppose.

As far as it being very easy...I don't know. If you've never changed oil, this might be a challenge as you might run into a couple issues...

As far as parts go, these are pretty easy. But if you've never done anything on a car, then it might be a little confusing and will probably take a good 3 hours at least, going slowly to get everything straight.
