d00d, that's a GREAT idea! It's always the rear passenger rim too...nice!

oh yeah Kool....I just read the thread where Kurt just posted up pics of his ride..he had the racing harts powdercoated white....yours would look awsome done in yellow! it cost him $400 for the entire set. its something to think about. :{D

Nah...
a-i don't like white rims
b-I'm not gonna spend $400 coating my rims
c-yellow + white = ghey
d-my rim will still be damaged.

Dood,I messed 2 rims up. all my buds think I'm nuts, cuase you can't see the damage unless your an inch away from them, but it bugs the shittie out of me!
I'm getting the 2 rims repaired over the winter, while I'm sportin'
the ghettorific steelies. It is only gonna cost $150 to do both rims.
plus, in the future a stock mp3 might me pretty hard to find(all my stock parts are in my garage attic),just thinking of the future!:D

A- they wouldn't be white they would be yellow
B- okay ya got me on that one...lol
C- they wouldn't be gray...they blast them to clean metal before they powdercoat them...its not like they mix the current color to with the new color
D- no it won't....that part gets all smoothed out BEFORE they are coated.

just giving you otions Kool...that all.

A-whoops, sorry I misread that the first time.
B-yep
C-nono, not gray...GHEY. It's the nice way to write "gay" on the internet. :-)
D-They'll smooth it out, but will they fill in the rub?

I'm thinking of trying to sand it down. Worth a shot.

C- OH...didn't read close enough...but it still wouldn't be white and yellow....the car would be ALL yellow.
D- you wouldn't be able to tell...unless you gouged it SERIOUSLY deep...just a scrape....piece of cake, if nothing else the powder coating will fill in any small irregularities...it would never show.

Hey. yeah, i got that it'd all be yellow...but that would probably be too much. I'm a big fan of silver rims. :-)

After I cleaned them up, they don't look too bad. After I sand it, it may look damn good. I'll let you guys know.

Please do....I know what you mean about the silver rims...

I am somewhat at a loss myself...I have a thing about POLISHED rims....and there just isn't much out there....and I don't want CHROME ones either....not for the price of them anyway...not to mention...I haven't seen an aftermarket wheel that was offereed in chrome that was to my liking. :{D

Scraped Wheels Suck

I scraped my left front wheel 5 minutes off the dealerships parking lot at the car wash. I specificaly asked them if it would fit and not get hit. " Oh of course we have wide cars like that all the time." He said. I went through and began to hand dry them sure as hell 5" jagged scrape. I go get the guy " MY WASH WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANYONE'S CAR." He said." I don't care if you just bought the f-ing thing and just got it off the truck. My insurance isn't paying for it."

It gets worse because my company has to deliver to this ass so I can't tell him off without repercussions from work. So in short How much you want for a wheel? Sounds like you have plenty of potential customers.

Not to mention that chrome weighs a TON and slows you down. ;)

My left nut... i mean left front wheel

I scratched my wheel by trying to avoid scratching my car paint. I thought of doing the touch-free drive through one day. Felt a little lazy to wash it myself and didn't feel like going to get it handwashed. Just stopped by one of the new Chevron gas station that offered the touch-free car wash at the same time gas up. Didn't think much about it. Drove through as normal, smiled as my car was getting full treatment for only $4.00.

For some odd reason, I didn't feel right after driving out of the car wash. Stopped in the parking lot and got out of the car. That was when I saw the ... can't bare to recall the nightmare. 1/4 of the rim was scratched up along the edge. The plate that triggers the car wash to operate wasn't wide enough to avoid touching my rims. So... it the wheel was stuck on the pressure plate way too snug... end result, scratched rim on the corner edges. It has been hand wash since then. Tried to avoid one thing, but ended up destroying something else entirely.

Oh well you really have to get close to notice them... another year and I'll get rid of them heavy things for something a bit lighter and hopefully better looking too. :D
