GRRRRRR...
So I went to a friend's tonight...and I slowly started backing up to the curb to parelell park. I was concentrating on NOT rubbing my rim on the curb...and was doing about 1mph. Sure as hell, sssssccccccrrrrrrraaaaaaaaape. Friggin eight inch gash around the outside lip of my rim. I'm SO pissed. I would have been REALLY pissed if it were on a really expensive set of rims that I wanted.
So anyway, I can't live with the rim like that. It's not downright horrible, and it's not TOO deep, but you can easily make it out from 3 feet away. I now have two choices....
1-Replace the rim with someone's rim off of here who is selling their stock mp3 rims....
2-Suicide
3-Sell my 3 perfect rims, along with the 1 fuxored rim...and get a new set of rims...and PRAY TO GOD that I don't rub them. It would make most sense to sell the rims peice by peice considering one is damaged.
Also, now would be a good time to discuss rim rub prevention....
1-Don't try to park close to curbs...unless you REALLY have to.
2-Someone told me that if you get tires that are a little big for the rim (for example get 215mm tires on our stock 7" rims) that the rim lip wouldn't rub, but the tire would rub first. Any truth to this? Advantages/disadvantages?
