Most powerful MS3?

Well this is a bit of a vanity thread, but for the first time Im thinking about who may have the most power in their car.

Next week Im going to have Lalooshs standback, Begi FMIC, Corksport DP, and my fuel pump reinstalled.... all onto my existing setup. Im running out of s*** to do...lol

But it got me thinking.... with appearance threads, and 1/4 mile threads... whose got the most powerful MS3...We need a thread for it.

I know meth, and turbo upgrades, and built motors are gonna blow a bolton setup like mine away, but who has actually done this and what numbers are being produced. I dont think anybodys got a built motor in their MS3 yet... but does anybody have a link to a car to shoot for?

Am I going to be close? And what are everybodys opinions on what should be next for me?

And thanks, in advance, for letting me start this thread.. As you all mostly know, I barely have a clue about modding...lol. The guys at PG should be making double on me. I even had to call Driver 311 at a Napa store to help me pick out my oil filter...hahaha. A little story behind that but its true!! But seriously...my car is slowly getting pretty decent, Id say.

Id like this thread to discuss whats possible right now... assuming we took NO shortcuts, for any reason.

well what are you going to be setting your boost to? Right now I think Laloosh has the fastest car, but I'm not sure what his new setup is like withoutthe standback, he may just get a map clamp and be good to go. Who knows.

lol... his standback is in the mail to North Carolina right now. And the pump is what made his stand out.... and probably his driving too I guess. But I'll have more than him, when I get it all installed next week(including my pump).

Im sure I'll go at least 18 psi... maybe 20 with the intercooler. The fuel shouldnt be a problem, and Im not gonna have the same cold weather issues as New Jersey right now.

i've got, well read my sig. I can get tuned because i don't have enough fuel down low in the rpm. And considering the different dyno's read differently most powerful is a mute point, the fastest is the correct question.

Well Im not bringing this up for some dyno bragging rights or anything. I know the track is where this is settled... God knows I wont be out there much. But this is more along the lines of what next?

Theres a ton of guys with fmic/tmic, tbe, intake, 18 or 19 psi, shortly fuel pumps, then the turbo manifolds...
and then what?

do we start spraying or going bigger turbos? I guess thats kind of the issue.

I think the block will max out... and we dont have tuning solutions that can overcome the hurdles really.

I can kind of see why Laloosh got rid of his stuff and is going to wait. Theres nowhere really to go if you dont want to start spraying.

Maybe bigger turbo upgrades but why hasnt this been tackled or talked about much?

You will not see any big numbers till a good tuning solution is in place. Right now anyone with any solution pushing 18-19PSI are all in the same ballpark. Full bolt-ons vrs basic (CAI, Test Pipe vrs CAI, TMIC/FMIC and Full TBE) will only be about a 20-30WHP differance really.

Untill someone really starts pushing the limits (Meth, Turbo Upgrade, Built Engine) we will all be pretty close to one another and you will not see anyone really hitting these until there is a proper tuning solution. When the Cobb AP comes out is when you will probably see some huge chances being taken.

I dont know why everyone is so sure about the AP. At this point we dont know if it will ever actually be released. We dont know if it will have more than whats already available. i.e. throttle control at least.

My turbo is about to be blowing clouds of smoke like crazy.... it already does sometimes with just the Vibrant midpipe. I wonder what a turbo kit would net if we went a conservative route. It seems like the next logical move.

Some of the MS6 guys have gone that route and they dont have any better tuning solutions than we do.

Oh yes you will. (angel)

Come Spring, Thursday nights are test and tune! It's like $10 to watch and $20 to run.. or something like that. Unfortunately, it's an 1/8mi track unless we go 3 hours away to Rockingham.

And for the most powerful, we are all going to say the same few people b/c they are popular for having good times/good dyno's. You, Randy, are kind of like a sleeper in a sense, most people don't know anything about your car and you have the most done!

I'd say Driver311's car. For hardly any mods, he puts down crazy power and times. I have a CAI and test pipe and he gets like 60 more torque than me! (boom06)

thats what 21psi boost spike will do for you. LOL Mine isnt the most powerful, but mod for mod my car is ripping for sure. 108mph traps isnt to shabby. But lalooshes 112 trap has me beat. I plan on out doing that by atleast 3mph the next time my car sees the track. 11.9-12.2@114-116 next time I see the track. Count on it!(enguard)

hmmmm my plan goes as follows next time it hits the track
cobb sri (ordering this week)
cobb ap with street tuner version (available late feb early march according to cobb) (ordering when it comes out lol)
My pg tbe (check)
Pg fuel pump (check)
either a ets tmic or trz air to liquid ic (not sure yet gotta read up some more)
16x7 rota slips w/ slicks (check)
trz mount (check)
Laloosh driver mod

IF all goes weel, i have the same goals as driver, high 11s at 115ish.

Lol... my wife still thinks I have just the cold air intake and a few fancy gauges:) If I tell her Im leaving her at home to go "racing".. she will truly think I am out of my mind. Right now when I talk about the car she just says..."Does it make you happy?"... then doesnt want to hear about it. But she s glad Im happy.

Marital bliss and my wife FTW!!!

I'll probably go racing a couple times, but otherwise I'll be getting the ole dashhawk 1/4 mile screen shots for my "officials":)

My car may not be the most powerful... but it is DEFINITELY a sleeper car. Hell it snuck up on me!!!

I just found something funny. The first 2 cars in the 11s will have NOT ONE CPE PART ON THEM. That s*** is going to make my day.(headbang)

this niche is just like the other turbo niches the US has had- first and second gen DSM, Supra, then years later the STi and later gen DSM guys (Evo). Japanese piggybacks were all the rage, but they were really just bandaids. there were real limits on so many things such turbo size and fuel/timing control because the tuning was at such a low resolution. Things that come to mind are the original afc, the itc, VPC, blah blah blah. It was not uncommon to see a Supra with 5-6 boxes stacked on top of each other helping the damn thing keep from imploding under moderate boost.

but,

It's just a matter of time- higher resolution super adjustable piggy backs and flash-based programming seems to be what's popular with the later gen turbo cars now, and it's only a matter of time before someone steps up like turboxs and the like with a solution for our cars.

until then, us now is not unlike the DSM guys in 1996.

it'll be very interesting to see how this thread progresses.
can't wait to see how the hp #s climb and 1/4mi times drop.

what's wrong with CPE?? I thought they were one of the best brands.

The Cobb MS3 is the fastest. It is capable of running a low 3 second 1/4mile, reversing the spin of the earth with its torque, curing cancer, ending world hunger, traps just shy of ludicrous speed, will never have a single problem with the motor, and poop out little rabbits as it goes around the race track.
