Most bang for the buck?

I haven't made any mods to my msp yet. I'm looking for options on what to do first. CAI? ECU FLASH? BOOST GAUGE? or something else? All ideas are welcome

Is your car showing alot of hesitation between shifts Like 1st to 2nd to 3rd if it is then get it flashed free at the dealership. Most people go with airflow ex. air intake, down pipe, cat back exhaust. Their has been alot of discussions on wheather or not CAI or SRI's are better. So you might want to do a search on intakes form your own opinion. I personally have a Injen CAI myself. As far as a boost gauge you really don't need one yet most MSP are running at 6.4 to 6.7 stock, untill you mess with the boost then you will need one to monitor it. (usa)

ok so i've been doing some research...CAI or Short ram? and if i flash my ecu then put in a boost controll won't the A/F ratio get messed up? sorry if i sound stupid but i've never modified a car before, i' learning fast though

Personly i would get a SRI, And if u flash ur ECU the i wouldn't reccomend turning up ur boost. cause i have heard its not good. all the flash does is advance the timing i.e. lean out ur fuel mixture....somthing like that. Anyways if u plan to turn up ur boost don't flash ur car, cause if u do u can't go back.. just my opinion

Oh yea on the sri part i'm pretty sure there aren't anyout for the msp YET, but u can get them custom made i think there is someone on here that makes'em

Right...if you flash your ECU you wont wanna run over 9psi. Which is plenty anyways. The flash does improve the hesitation greatly!!! For your mods it all depends on how much you have..

I skipped over the cheap crap and did one big buy.. I just purchased Wagner's FMIC Kit for 900 bucks. Plus another 180 for my Greddy Blow off Valve. WHoooossshhhhhh!!! So if you got the money the FMIC is the best mod. Your stock IC is crap... it will get heat soaked in no time. Everyone has shown significant and lasting gains 1st thru 5th... with a FMIC. The SRI is better if you plan on raising ur boost and doing more mods. Thats why im getting the kit i am.

If you dont have but a few hundred bucks then get a CAI and motor mounts. The motor mounts will eliminate wheel hop and give you a lil bit better reaction time.

My advice.....save and get the FMIC. You wont regret it.

don't even worry about the flash right now; just deal with it until late summer-early fall when mazda releases the retuned ECU. i did it and it worked fine for 2 months or so and now i have the same problems i had before it-- just a waste of your time, but it is free.

i would go with a boost guage first, then downpipe, and cai or a sri (which ever you prefer).
it's cheap, easy to install, and lets everyone know your boosted

Fugly? yes, MUCH faster than you or your MSP will EVER be? Hell yes. I'm a mazda man through and through, but Dodge turned the screw on everyone else with the SRT4. That car is indestructible. It boosts like crazy and for some reason Dodge keeps throwing more parts and power at it. Mazda won't even fix our ******* noisy suspension.
