Well...there is always a risk...but if done correctly by the shop..it can be made into ONE very solid piece. The shop used some expanding filler and a whole bunch of body screws.
You haven't seen Ed's lately then? It still can break.

how did they mold it on, did they use fiberglass on the urethane, or some way to meld the two urethane pieces together?

Not yet... This Sunday it goes on.... I am trying to get this to fit:

I do not want to have 2 sets of expensive FOG lights...nor do I want to swap them. I never use my lights anyways.

The molding added some volume (material) in the fog light area..so these "grills" do not fit flush...

A few members in Toronto are using these grills in place of the fogs (instead of replacing them after being damaged).

Part Numbers (before you ask):

B32E-50-C11 cover, lamp
B32E-50-C21 cover(l), lamp

About $75 CAD for both.

very nice man! i was thinking of diong the same thing...you think that could be done with urethane though?

Are you still going to try and open up those grills for some air flow? Do you see what I meant about it being a difficult job now? BTW the car is looking great.

Yup...not going to go that route....for now :). I thought from the pics that they were originally real grills...with the ability for air to pass through.

Thanks to RiceWagon for the PNs.

I have updated the original post with new pics...

Tell me what you think? (the intercooler needs some cleaning...I know)

My Nitrous Express N-Tercooler Ring has NOT come in yet....but that is all that I have left to do to the front of this car.

hoTT...where'd you get the fog covers?

They are NOT the MSP ones....

I got these PNs from a member on our TOProtege.com board.

I am 99% that mazda created these as an ALTERNATIVE to replacing the expensive FOG LIGHTS on the 2002 MSP and Protege 5.

I never use my fogs...so I left them on my STOCK bumper for the winter.
