Mods? Take a look at my engine?

hey guys,

I just bought my MSP off ebay and I haven't picked it up yet - in fact it's gonna be almost two weeks until I can get it. However, I have this picture of the engine. I barely know anything when it comes to looking at an engine, so if you could all take a look at it and let me know if you see anything funky or any aftermarket mods have been done to it. I see the injen cold air intake, which I guess is a good thing. Other than that, I don't know any other modifications.

the battery...my guess is since it still has the stock intercooler piping everything else is stock. welcome to the MSP!

Uh oh. That could be good or bad. I was planning on putting an exhaust syetm on it to give it a nice rumble, so either the previous owner did me a favor or turned it into a fart cannon. We'll have to see I guess. Thanks for the heads up!

I see the boost gauge in the car on the pillar, but are you sure it has a controller too?

That little bronze object next to the BPV does look a lot like a boost controller.

and yes, that bronze object next to the BPV may or may not be a manual boost controller... assuming it is... get it off of your car asap if you like it without holes in the block.

looks like the stock HU already died, decent quality alpine in there will save you some headache.

also the plastic engine cover is missing. Doesn't hurt anything, but some people like it, others like ditching it in favor of a cleaner valve cover setup (moving the ignition coils away from being directly over the plugs like on the 1.8L motor)

good eye! I wasn't sure on the knob with the glare...

Also looks like a 03.5 wheel. edit: maybe not... can't tell.
