Mods for a Daily Driver for noobs and everyone =)

I think someone should be awesome and write up a list of mods for daily drivers. Or a list of mods that you should get first and stuff.

I think that would be helpful for all the noobies (like me) =)

BTW i got this idea from the Mazdaspeed Protege forum by terbow

something like that would be great for all of us. I really hope someone makes this. I know i can't.

If no one wants to spend their time to write this up, then you guys could just list what mods you have and what order you got them, that would be great for all of us new kids.

Thanks everyone!!!

Well since no one else is responding I suppose I will. I just bought my MS6 a few months ago, so the only thing I have done so far is tint the windows. However, we owned a Subaru WRX which we highly modded until someone pulled out in front of my husband a few weeks ago and totalled it. Also, my husband and I are huge car enthusiasts so I still feel qualified to answer this question, mainly by telling you what I am about to do to mine.

The first thing I am getting is exhaust and probably a cold air intake. I love a deep sound, so to me that is very important plus it will add some hp. I am also looking to get some new springs to lower it since it does have quite a bit of roll and sits too high. And of course I need rims...just a personal preference. These are some pretty basics for just about any car.

I am also looking into the cobb tuner. I know it was a big help with the WRX, but I am planning to do a little bit of research to see how it works with the MS6. It should open the turbo up alot and tune the car to get the max performance out of your new exhaust and intake.

I'll let you know how everything works out once I dump the money into it. Hope this helped.

I imagine nobody has set up a thread like that since we always seem to start offering up ideas to people when they first get on and introduce themselves and their car. Everyone has different tastes and often take different routes.

Anyways, I always say the necessities for upgrading a dd is aftermarket motor mounts (at least the rear), intake, test pipe, and swap to full synthetic fluids. An intake and test pipe are easily reversible for dealer visits and most don't mind the motor mounts. Bigger gains can be achieved by swapping your downpipe, but it's a lot of work and you can kiss your warranty goodbye. Anything cat back is mostly for show/sound since it's expensive for very little gain. Suspension is covered rather well in the wheels tires suspension threads and well worth checking out. If you're still looking for more gains while being able to keep your warranty (and daily driveability) in tact you can look into a new tmic and the cobb accessport (both easily reversable) and as always, hang onto your stock parts until your warranty expires.

There's the sticky that lists all (or most of) the mods available, but no DD mod guide that I'm aware of. I think from what I've learned so far, the best DD mods would be the rear motor mount, possibly a short shifter, intake, upgraded TMIC, and replace the leaky stock BPV. That should tighten things up, give a little more power by removing some stock restrictiveness, and at the same time improve the driving feel, or at least not make the car any more difficult for day to day use.
