Mitsu Mirage Rated @ 44 Highway

In-dash nav and rearview camera available?

LOL!

Mazda, wake up!

Also, cars starts @ $12,995.00, which means you can probably negotiate one out of the showroom for $9,500.00.

Ugh, 0-60 is almost 13 seconds. Even with a 74-hp engine, one would think that an 1860-lb car would be faster than that.

I honestly don't think it looks that bad from the side view- larger wheels and less wheel gap, plus making the grille one continuous large "mouth" from top to bottom would do wonders for how it looks.

That's really enough for most people- think of how quickly you normally accelerate off the line from a light.
Yeah it is weird to offer an engine that small here. They are taking a gamble.

I think once most people find the acceleration adequate and maybe see the fuel returns, they won't think about it any more. The Fiat 500 sells well enough with the 1.4L.
Hopefully boosted to the moon!
Ford's already gotten 200hp+ out of the 1.0 Ecotec.

I drove one before I bought my Mazda2. The feature content is impressive but build quality and long term reliability are a major concern. The car is made in Thailand. The seat fabric is very odd, looks like something out of a Yugo. I drove an automatic (they only had one car) and it was, as expected, extremely slow. The auto Yaris is a race car by comparison. I wasn't impressed, though I think there's a market for a well executed 3-cylinder in the US.

I don't intend to generalize but this was a big reason i didn't buy a fiesta, i couldn't get past the "made in mexico" sticker on it(also i didn't want to hand crank my own windows in a brand new car, and it was obese). I think a 3 cylinder could be done correctly, but it still needs to be a "driver's car". if they had the skyactive demio in the US i would have gotten that over the 1.5.

Oh, and to add another data point- the Chevy Spark runs a 1.2L engine, although it's a 4 cylinder and not a 3- but it's selling pretty damn well too.
