Those stock? When I was working at the Mazda dealer all the Millenias came rolling of 17"s. There was a black S with chrome 17's.
 
"Millenia is part of an unfulfilled dream. A decade ago, Mazda saw Lexus and Infiniti succeeded in entering prestige car market, so it established two new brands, Xedos and Eunos, for Europe and Asia respectively, to market the prestige line of cars. Two prestige cars were developed, Eunos 500 (Xedos 6) and Eunos 800 (Xedos 9), intended to rival BMW 3-series and 5-series respectively. The American operation Amati was to be set up before the company went into financial trouble. Mazda woke up from the dream.
The Eunos 800 (Xedos 9) is still surviving today, but no one cares about its brand name any more. In Japan and North America, it is simply branded as Mazda Millenia.

The Millenia is built on a unique platform with all multi-link suspensions. Despite of its age, it still rides smoothly and quietly, but handling is well behind the competition leading by BMW 5-series and Lexus GS300. Steering is too light and lack of road feel. Admittedly, even back to its launch in 1994, it was not regarded as a driver뭩 car.

Against rivals, Millenia뭩 cabin space is rather tight. Sense of prestige is ruined by the plasticky dashboard, although interior and exterior styling are pleasant.

The range-topping Millenia is powered by a Miller Cycle V6 displaces 2.3 litres and equipped with a supercharger with intercooler. It is good for 210 hp and 210 lbft, deliver in a smooth and refined manner for a supercharged engine. The Miller Cycle is said to reduce fuel consumption by 15% compare with equally powerful conventional engines, i.e., 3-litre normally aspirated V6. However, in reality it was found that the Millenia is no more frugal.

The Miller Cycle engine provides strong performance - 60 mph can be reached from rest in 8 seconds. In contrast, the entry-level normally aspirated 170 hp 2.5-litre V6 was not so good. Its origin can be traced back to the last MX-6 coupe and is sharing with the current American 626. Not only lack of power to cope with the heavy body, it is not all that smooth."

I wouldn't be surprised if the Mazda9 did turn out to be an SUV. It is confirmed that Mazda will build a large SUV in 2006 specifically for the North American market.
 
First of all the 2.5 liter was quite smoothe but the transmissions tended to make hard acceleration shifts somewhat jerky. The 2.5 in america was detuned in America as not to be to close to the miller Cycle engine. The before stated numers of 170 hp and 160 torque were correct for the US versions. The J-spec engine which is called the KLZE produced 198 to 202 depending on year and car it was matched. As for interior luxury like many things the ends were not as nice as the beginning. The interior got cheaper materials as the car moard but that was later changed to odels aged. They originally had tan leather seats with a black dash board but that was later changed to all tan. That was a mistake in my opinion as previous interior gave the car a character others did not posess. The performance of the car upon initial release only fell short of the 3 series BMW but bested the 5 series for which it was aimed.It finished second in its production year due to stopping distances that were to long and a large turning radius according to Car and driver. The car was the best best slalom car in the group which consisted of the I30, 325, ES300 and at the moment vcan't remember the other two cars. Anyway the car is still a very good highway driving performer though it is not a dragster. I have the 2.5 liter L model and I can run at 100 mph all the way to Atlanta a 180 mile trip without a hickup from the car. By the way if you want a little extra power you can change US part for there Japan counterparts as I did. They are a direct swap and can make a millenia a whole different car. In the 30K range I still don't believe there is a car that looks any better, but Mazda lost out by not improving the engine packages.
