i got my MAM 2.5" catted midpipe and the Airflow Logistics AFC installed today. WOW. i felt the power from the midpipe, and i felt it all the way upto the redline thanks to the AFC. im set to 8 psi right now because im still scared to put it to 10. i plan on going to the track next friday. i guess we'll see how i do. definitely impressed with both products. some things i noticed; when i start the car i hear a rattle, and while driving i hear the rattle also. everything seems to be hooked up just fine so im not too worried about it. i get a lumpy idle at startup which i didnt have before the AFC. no biggie either. other than that....AWESOME products, worth every penny.

EDIT: how do i switch the map that i am running? how do i know what im running. like i said, my boost is set to 8 right now but i may turn it up to 10 and see how it is.

it switches automatically depending on the boost the afc reads (spilt second)

oh yeah congrates on the new mods! And John is dealing with the start up issue as we type.

My exhaust rattles at the rear axle....

maybe your midpipe is rattling at the heat sheild....

my MAM mid pipe rattles, just on start up a little bit and as Im decelerating at about 2200-2000 rpm. Im almost certain its the heat shield.

well after driving about 50 miles im throwing a CEL now. the 02 wire is hooked up behind the cat, so its not that. all the sensors are hooked up in the intake, and all the hoses are connected perfectly fine now. any ideas? the shop wants to charge me $85 for a diagnostic. i told him i didnt want to pay if they installed it wrong or it was there fault somehow, and he insisted it wasnt his fault and if i got a diagnostic i would have to pay no matter what. he's also certain its the AFC, he thinks the ECU is seeing a 2nd computer and is throwing a CEL out of conflict or something. any help is appreciated. thanks.

go to a napa or any autoparts store. they have obdII scan tools to read the code causing the CEL. have them clear it and then look up online to see what the code means. www.obd-ii.net or something similar has a listing of the codes.

^^^^^what he said.

..... and if you inclined enough, re-solder the extension added to your 02 sensor to reach the bung, if its not a good connection it will throw a code.

let us know what the prob is when you get it diagnosed.

good luck.

ok so i called the shop. they said if i get a diagnostic done, no matter what im going to pay for it because there is only one way to install the parts and they are positive its not their fault. he said its because the ECU is reading a 2nd computer and is probably in conflict with it so its throwing a code. he said its not his fault, that i need to get in touch with the maker of the AFC. can anybody comment on this. im gonna try to call DSMConvert on monday to see if he can give me any sort of help. what should i do about the shop? im refuse to pay for a diagnostic if its their fault not mine ya know. any help is appreciated. thanks.

Dude!!! Take It To An Auto Parts Store And Have The Code Read!!! Figure Out The Problem Yourself!!!
