Michigan Mazda Club

So I'm bringing it up again. A Michigan Mazda club. Since I know we have a drive/bonfire/picnic coming up I thought it'd be cool if we could plan some stuff to discuss/take care of at these events.

I won't be at any of the events, but still hope that we can get a club rolling.

The following are things I think we should consider:

a) Choosing a name. Vote on the many names suggested in other posts.
b) Develop a "roster." Make a list of names, forum names, cars, phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
c) Discuss the leadership of the group. Any volunteers to sacrifice their lives for this club?
d) Discuss possible guidlines. Primarily member fees.
e) Discuss web site/t-shirt/sticker development. This stuff obviously relies on the first 3 things happening.
f) Discuss future meets!!!!

Does anyone else have any ideas for discussion?

i can't think of anything right now, because i'm way too ******* tired, and i have too much work crap on my mind right now, but i'm definitely interested.


i know there was an import cars club that was around for a few years, can't remember their name. but they all basically helped each other out with installs and the like, and ended up being popular enough amongst the car stores around detroit that they got some good deals on parts when they ordered through them.

i'm sure with all the mazda stores online that have been supporting this site, we more than likely could get some good group deals sent right over to michigan if this was all pulled off.


not to mention...there's nothing like being a part of something that you actually enjoy. parties, meets, bbq's, and more...when you know everyone, all have the same mindframe about the group, and all get along...you just have a damn ******* good time.

yea i agree im only going to be able to make the drive but i hope we get a chance to talk aboot it there as well as the bbq

Well I can assure everyone, that the ONLY way this would happen is if people show up at one event or meeting to get it done. This past weekends events would have been a perfect opportunity and very few Mazda owners showed up to either event. To be honest I was pretty dissappointed. It seemed like there was alot of interest early, but getting people out to these things has become difficult. Keep in mind, I'm not lecturing anyone, but merely making an observation as I also am very busy and realize that sometimes it is just impossible to make these things.

Like I have said before, I am willing to help with developing any Mazda club from a consulting standpoint, but do not have any time beyond that to dedicate to the physical effort. I have tried to get everyone together now for several events over the last few months and other than the original Drive, very few have turned out and they did, it was never brought up as a group. Hopefully if this is still an item of interest, folks will participate at the next event whatever it is and we can work on this together. (thumb)

seems the idea just keeps dying down. And a club thats too A.D.D. to start up a club, obviously doesnt have the ambition to keep one operated and maintained. Usually starting the club is the part that is easiest to get people to help with, just cause its new and exciting, but it died down pretty fast, i dont think there is even a point to trying again... lets just face it most of us MICHIGAN MAZDA OWNERS=LAZY

all right then kris lets set up a date in the next coulpe of weeks here or pm me and well get this thing going i was unable to make the bbq witch sucked and some what dissapointed at the mazda owners turn out the the 24th dirve not to be bitching but enough talk action needs to be taken and kev ill defintly need some consulting help

hey man why did you pick me, i admited i was one of those lazy people. leave me out of it, thats valuable time i could be spedning sleeping.... LOL jk, well onlybad weather sundays are good for me(boat), or weeknights at 8sh. yea i work ALOT. but im down to help with stuff. but to be honest, i can not devote any seriouse time, we already have Promazda club really, we just n eed people to join it, they already have the sponsorships and s***, i already talked to mike, he said we could be a sister club and use their benefits, there group, forum and what not, and have our own name.

Didn't ProMazda just keel over pretty much since Mike left? If it hasn't yet, it might happen in the near future.

I think trying to be a ProMazda branch will just add more work to a club. Sure we'll have the freedom to plan our own events and what-not, but then we'll have to be relaying this to higher people or something???? I don't see any benefits to going ProMazda, which to me seems like a "Why bother?"

Joker, if Kris really doesn't want to do this, I'm in for picking up some of the responsibility.

well im definently willing to hlep out. But i cant devote my life to this, i just started another business and hae alot of other things going on in my life. i can definently help with organization lets have a meet somewhere soon, im not to crazy about piggy backing on other poeples meets, but if that works then ok. im thinking we could do the same as the subie guys, meeting up once a week, certain day of the week, maybe mix it up a bit and change it once in a while. like dave and busters in Troy, but that gets pricey. so how about "On The Border" (mexican restoraun) this wednesday? im kinda just throwing s*** out there just to get the ball rolling without setting a date this will never happen.

I am interested, buttttttttttttttttttt, I have two classes in 7 weeks; between may 10 and july 2, so that time is out for me.
Also, my wife is pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (hand) So i will lose alot of time there.

I really would like to help, seriously, so maybe after july 4 i can spend some time. sorry for all the excuses.
