Meguiars NXT 2.0 Wax A++

Got to disagree here. The "cleaners" in NXT 2.0 are not strong enough to remove a layer of carnauba or any wax, synthetic or natural. Can't recall the threads I read it in over at Meg's but Meg's says that it won't remove another product. NXT 2.0 is not a cleaner wax nor does it have abrasives. But my disagreement comes from experience. I have put NXT 2.0 over a few products, including some glazes, and it has not removed anything. Also Meg's suggests a second layer for uniformity and depth. If it were to remove layers it would remove itself and thus the a 2nd layer would be pointless. Anyway, I understand where you would get the idea. Most people claim that AIO and cleaner waxes remove other products. But this is not one of those products.

Also to say the carnauba would be gone in a month is very subjective.

Ok this is just my opinion here but I think the "cleaners" are not cleaners at all. Meg's calls them "specialized cleaners" and states that they can remove light swirls. I've never found a cleaner or non abrasive product that can do that. I think it is simply ingredients that fill and hide the swirls, which this product does. They list them as proprietary ingrediants, so hard to say what "specialized cleaners" really are.

Anyway, you can put the carnauba over it too if you wish. Either way you are fine with how you use the NXT 2.0.

interesting.

Ive always treated like a sealant, and was under the impression that NXT had cleaners in it. Therefore I never layered, nor used NXT as a topper. I have both gens of NXT (i have the paste version of 1, and the liquid version of 2) and never did any tests, just used them according to the reviews i read online. Now I agree that the cleaners in NXT dont remove defects, and are in fact fillers if anything at all.

Im not a fan of AIO as an end all paint solution, the only thing AIO that i liked was Klasse. It was used on a oxidized, repainted fox body mustang. The owner just wanted it to have some protection, but didnt really care about the defects. We used AIO by hand, and I could see a slight increase in gloss returned to the paint.

However, there was a test done by one of the professionals on autopia, who did a test of products to see if swirls could be removed by hand. He concluded if i remember correctly, that if(NXT) treated like a polish and essentially worked into the paint, after I think 5 applications he started to see a reduction in defects. He did have pictures to prove it, with before and afters under a halogen or a sun gun, i cant remember.

Personally for myself, NXT doesnt really get used anymore. I like the conveniance of a wipe on wipe off nuba, and the fact i dont have to worry about staining trim.

I agree that NXT 2.0 uses fillers in spite of what they claim. Not that it's necessarily bad but I would rather they be truthful about it.

If you appreciate the look of a carnauba but want the durability of a sealant it's impossible to beat the Collinite line of waxes. Their Insulator Wax is as tough as any sealant and provides the carnauba glow that many appreciate.
