DES MOINES (AP) - Jane Hambleton has dubbed herself the meanest mom on the planet

After finding alcohol in her son's car, the Fort Dodge mother decided to sell the car and share her 19-year-old's goof with everyone -- by placing an ad in the local newspaper.

The ad reads -- quote -- OLDS 1999 Intrigue. Totally uncool parents who obviously don't love teenage son, selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under front seat. $3,700/offer. Call meanest mom on the planet.

Hambleton has heard from more than interested buyers after recently placing the ad in The Des Moines Register.

The 48-year-old says she has fielded more than 70 calls from people who wanted to congratulate her.

She says the ad cost a fortune but has been worth it. And although the car has been sold, Hambleton says she'll keep the ad running for another week -- just for more feedback.

That is true. I wouldn't doubt that a "Coalition for Drinking Teenagers" or some crap like that follows suit for having a terrible parent...

I would not tell you what my dad or mom have done if that had happened when I was a teenager. My dad actually took my 5yr old sister to see how a jail "looks like" when she took a couple of bucks from the table without telling anyone. Do you know how honest she is today?

like was said above, it's really sad when a parent who actually does something right get's this big a deal made of her. I don't see what the fuss is all about, underage and drunk diving, if she only sold the car she's being nice about it. My dad would have beat the crap out of me and called the cops to see if there were any charges that could be filed.
